EZ Red tools

I have never owned any of these tools The comapny makes different tools form the normal run. I was thinking about getting these in Metirc and SAE. I was wondering if anyone used them and how they like them. I have an old 7 piece set of Craftsman. They are seling for about $80 on E bay. This set in metric is $114 and the SAE are about $97
This company has been in business sense 1966 and I have really not payed attention to them before.
How is the quality of this company? E Z RED tools

a guy at the shop I work at has some of there stuff. seems to hold up well he never complains. There well priced Ive just never found a use yet for there odd ball wrenches they look cool tho.

I hate to be the one who brings this up, but where are they made? A quick browsing of their site, and several of their distribitors makes me wonder....( a set of long flex ratchets for under $60)
They have some neat stuff, and I can get around CoO in certain circumstances.

My snap on dealer has some of the ezred wrenches on his truck . He say he sells a bunch with no problems .

I have the HF extendable 1/2" ratchet, which is identical to the EZ Red model. I like it. The ratchet has low drag, and the extendable handle lets me get it into multiple places.

I am not a huge HF fan but my 40 year old son was looking at the ratchets a while back and got me to look at them. Some of them are very nice and seem to be very smooth. We have so many different ratchets that I have picked up in my junking we did not buy any. I might pick one up and give it a go.

If you figure how over priced all the tool trucks are I am not so sure that these are junk. I think their first tools were made in Japan. 1966 would have been just about the right time for import form Japan. The funny think is that we though the tools form Japan were junk becasue they were so cheap. The joke was on us. Those old Japanese toold turned out to be very good with good steel. I pick up some old used Jap tools form time to time and they have held up very well.

I have had a wrench set for India for over 40 years and they are as good as my old Craftsman. One of my sons now has them.

I will take a look at EZ Red and HF to see how the even up with eachother. I am sure you are right. The price of William's wrenches are so low in price that I think they all must be made in China. I have some of thir wratchets made in the US. I am not impressed with the brand. I would go China first. My HF impact socke set I bought for construction work has held up well for the past 25 years.

I just though these wrenches looked cool and that they might be useful but then again I never use the box end on my combo sets. I have had a few sets of box wrenches for over 40 years and never used them. I think I used them once and I never think to turn the wrench around. Very funny now that I think about it.

EZ RED must be doing something right, they have been around sense 1966.

i have their flex head reversible ratcheting wrenches in my home box, so far no problems and like them as much as my matco ones at work - i wouldn't hesitate to recommend them

I believe you but am very supprised. I know he will make more money that way but I was wondering if Snap-on knows and if it is ok under the dealers contract agrement Snap-on. It undercuts thier high price brand and will make sales for the truck owner. I am glad they get to sell other products. That really helps fill in the sales. I am sure it is hard to sell expensive tools new. In this econemy everyone is only buying what they need only. I know I am having a very hard time selling wood and machine shop equipment and tools. I do it as a side line but my sales are 80 percent off and I am selling as cheap as you can get.

I payed for our 7 kids collage and now helping the grand kidswith selling estates and tools. We have 3 kids in thier early too late 20's. I am an old fart. I just had my third great grand child and another one is on the way. LOL

I don't care if the wrenches are made in Taiwan. I think half of the parts in my Linclon town cars and Ford trucks are form there. The only way a nation can have growth and gain welth is to trade with other nations. It is economics 101.

I know we like to buy American. I do to but you can't Beat Honda engines. My out board are fantastic, I have Honda generators, power washers and water put with Honda engines. My one generator is 35 years old and I have only fixet the carb once. It still starts on the second pull after sitting. My out board start on the first pull and they are going on 30 years old. Taiwn tools are getting very good, so are tools from India and South Korea 99.99 percent of my tools are made in the US. I just liked the box end on these and the offset. I though I would try them and If I did not use them someone in the family would take them off my hands.

Our sons are so old they quit riding motercycles and they restore cars, boats and are working on an old plane. One son owns a small fleet of truck and does cross country hauling, another grand son works for Penske trucking. My big barn and shop always has a truck in it form the fleet. My sons rebuild thier brothers trucks in thier spare time. The kids take care of me now. They are in age 36,40, 46 and 51 with girls inbetween. If I buy it they will get used.

Most of the EZ red tools are great value for the money. Alot of their wrenches are Taiwan made by Kabo. When SK went under and stopped offering their Gpro extra long flex head ratcheting wrenches, EZ Red started offering them.
I remember when EZ Red started out, they sold mostly battery service tools. They've come a long way since then. Their booth at the AAPEX show is always well stocked with their latest products. I really like this wrench set from them:

EZ Red tools aren't meant to make you give up your truck brand tools but, they fill a niche market for specific wrenches and other tools. Many of their items are rebadged and sold on tool trucks.

I have a set of there Long pattern ratchets in fixed and flex, Ive really only used the 1/2 fixed head with any regularity. The grips are a bit on the small size even for my average mits, I dismantled the steering on my 175 Massey and never felt like it was being taxed.

I have these. They work great on rounded off bolts and they can take some abuse. I like them a lot. If their other tools are half as good, you won't be disappointed
