Possible new product. Not endorsing, just sharing.
It put me to sleep.....I got bored 54 seconds in.
In this age of AI everything that video was way too dry
In the world of marketing, everybody is a spin doctor.Imagine being arrogant enough to think that companies like Eaton, Hubbell, LeGrand and Leviton will have to "join the revolution or lose market share" .

agreedVery wordy.... Sounds like it was written by AI and narrated by computer generated voice. I clicked the FF button a few times then clicked away.
The product could be the best thing since sliced bread but most people will never know..... because the video is unwatchable. lol.
ive got a few i need to replace in this 1953 home. but theyve been like that since i moved in, sept 2018... never got around to itHow many times in the past year have any of us had to replace worn out receptacles in our homes?
I might have gotten the website address wrong. The site I saw had a picture and a contact us form. This is it
just a landing page. it hasnt been built yetTheir website is as bad as the video. ez2wire.org
The website I saw the other day had a picture and a contact us form. I see that it is now a parked domain site.just a landing page. it hasnt been built yet

Someone in marketing should be fired...Ez2wire.com is a manufacturer of wiring harnesses. Ez2wire.org is a company or organization promoting a standard for wiring devices. I don't think there is any relation other than similarly named websites.
It seems at the end of the day
Are you tied in with them? It's in development. I think they have some early samples. I'd guess they have parents.

Not at all. They started a thread at thebuildingcodeforum.com and I thought it would be interesting to see reactions here. Are you tied in with them?
Looks like the general reaction from us GJ members is clear.I thought it would be interesting to see reactions here
I think this idea has potential merit, especially since the inventor also demonstrated "adapters" to allow conventional devices to be wired. If you think about it, everything else these days generally has standardized connectors. Shoot, just about everyone decided their "home" circuit breakers should all be approximately the same exact form factor, and more or less perfectly interchange. Makes sense to extend that to devices as well.It seems at the end of the day if it will be accepted by code and costs less or at least not more, it will be used.
CoughUnfortunately it sounds like he's trying to get companies to license the design/technology, and I think that's a heavy-handed approach
At least I the thread at another site, he was clear and adamant that there was no cost for the license. I agree it may be hard to get manufacturers to sign on, but seemed sincere about making the designs free. It's just a connector and lots of those out there. I think he wants the EZ2wire logo on the product.Unfortunately it sounds like he's trying to get companies to license the design/technology
I didn't watch the video in the first post, but the pictures at this link remind me of the wiring that's sometimes used in modular housing - like the prefab houses that are delivered to the building site in two halves, so the electrical in the two halves can be snapped together. To add further confusion
