Gents,

I contacted EZCarlift about the possibility of a group buy. The guy wrote back to me and seems interested. He is asking some pretty specific questions about quantities, payment, shipping...etc. So my question to the group is. How many of you would be serious about buying this thing. What does the price need to be in order for you to pull the trigger??? If we can get enough guys, we might have some real buying power....so let me know and we'll see if we can make this work.

Thanks,
Greg

yeah, I saw the maxjax group buy, but it was limited to a certain amount of guys...this is also a little different from a product standpoint. I like the fact that I don't have to drill holes in my garage floor for this, and that it is portable if I want it to be.

Well I would be interested, but it would honestly have to be nearly half price ($1k). I just dont see that happening, so I wont hold my breath.

I think it depends on the quantity....20 guys signed up for that other group buy pretty quick. If I can tell the guy he could sell 30 of them tomorrow...he might listen! I haven't a clue...the economy *****, maybe he'd rather sell some than none?!?!?

I would be in for an EZlift if she was $999. $1 short of $1000.

I would just need to confirm this style lift would work for my old VWs is all. I think it will do well for my buses but not so sure for the Thing. But it may.

Either way, I think a $999 price, although still up there, is a decent enough deal to pull the trigger and buy one.

So, are you going to tally the #s here and also from the other site you posted?

I went ahead and joined that group buy web site also.

You don't want duplicates so you might want to have one spot where we all say yey or ney.

Hi guys
If you need a good full size lift for your shop go to Nationalautotools.com
Home :: Two Post Automotive Lifts
Two Post Automotive Lifts

NTO-9A 9,000 Lb. Two Post Asymmetric Automotive Lift
Our most popular two post lift with all the features you need. The NTO-9A is built tough to last in commercial applications while reasonably priced so the home owner can have one too. This two post lift gives you a clear... $1,395.00.

That is not what this thread is about my friend.

We are talking about one lift for a group buy of the ezcarlift, not other models and brands.

I kind of like that group buy site. when someone new is added, you get an email that a new person has signed on. So, we can keep track of what is going on and if any decent # of folks want something like this.

I would be interested -- but do we have any additional technical specs other that what's listed on the manufacturer's website? Is he willing to list any of that info? Rating of steel, etc. What kind of fasteners, etc. How thick's the powercoating?

If this is a really well done thing, I don't mind paying for it. I actually don't begrudge a guy additional money if his materials and costs are high for a reason.

I'm going to see if I can get the guy I emailed to sign up to the site....or at least look at this thread. I don't know a lot of the details of this thing and I think it would be best if he answered some of these questions. Most of all....why its so expensive.

The purpose of the group buy site is so you don't have to juggle forum threads everytime somebody joins etc.

It basically centralizes the whole thing so you don't have to sift through the forums to get an update when somebody says he's interested etc. It saves a lot of time.

It even accepts PayPal deposits and payments. It makes life easier for everybody (buyers and sellers).

tatra,

Sure, I have no problems answering questions in public. We're based in Virginia, and have been around for about 2 years.

Up until now, we've been focusing on after-market car parts, mostly on the Subaru STi. You can check us out on IWSTI.com, NASIOC.com and Mazda3Forums.com.

The idea for our site came about when the founder, Vincent (check out his other businesses screameleons.com and mhelpdesk.com), was trying to get a group buy going for a part he needed on his car. It was pretty difficult to manage the group buy through forum threads and PM's and it eventually became too much trouble than it was worth. So he ended up paying full price for his part.

But this gave him the idea that the group buy market has a need for a site like ours to basically simplify the group buying process for buyers and sellers alike. On top of that, to make it worthwhile we decided to make listings free of charge to buyers and sellers so that the group buy prices could be as low as possible.

We hope this thing gains enough popularity so that we could start offering optional vendor ads to vendors that would like to sponsor our site. That way we could cover some of our monthly expenses (i.e. hosting etc.)

As far as complaints go, we have gotten back a lot of feedback. But there are still some bugs that people complain about (read about them here on NASIOC.com)

I hope this clears up some of your questions. Feel free to ask me more if you have any.

Thanks.

10 People have signed up via the group buy website and 5 have shown interest here. That makes for a total of 15 so far. If you are interested please chime in. The more people I can go to this guy with the better off we'll be.

Up to 18 now. Not bad. I would bet everyone is in at the $1000 mark. Hopefully the seller sees all this interest and really works on the price to get us all buying the lift. Either way, thanks for starting this whole process. It is worth the shot I would say. tj

I'm sure everyone following this thread has already seen, but the manufacturer has posted group pricing, best is $1425 shipped. I don't think we'll get there, too many wanting to see $1000 shipped, including me. I just realized I'll most likely have to buy more than one "spacer" kit. Theres another $135...

Guys,

The seller EZCARLIFT just registered for the site and posted his plans for pricing here:
http://www.gotogroupbuy.com/229/EZCARLIFT.aspx?ActiveTab=Discussion

Here's what he said:
"21 is the magic number. I'll go for 20 as well. Pricing is as follow:

6 - 10 = $1,405.69 + $150 s&h with in the lower US

11 - 20 = $1,338.75 + $150 s&h with in the lower US

21 and over = $1,275.00 + $150 s&h with in the lower US

The $150 s&h is for induvidual shipments door 2 door. The lift is shipped FedEx staright to your and it is fully insured. Shipping and handling could be reduced if I can ship multiple units via freigh company to one location."

If anybody is interested, please join the group buy here:

For $500 - $700 more you can get a MaxJax with better under-car access... they should really lower that price to $1000 for that type of equipment...

Yep, any number over $1,000 and I am looking at something that lifts much higher and heavier.

...and has it's own power unit.

I'd like to call the guy up myself to ask some questions. If the quality's there, I don't mind the price. (Esp. for 21+). I like the idea. And I don't have the space at home. I'm not too far from manufacturer either.
