I was going to get a MaxJaxx, but this turned out better for me.

It isn't a 2 post lift, but it is as good as anything is going to get and still fit in my garage :) plus it doesn't take up a lot of space and it is very portable.

The caster kit works great - the wheels are large so it moves very easily - almost too easily, way better than my wheel dollies.

Very cool. I have considered one of these because it is so lite weight and all but not sure I want to work on my back all the time while doing things underside. Like cleaning lots of rust areas on frame, etc... I will "one day" probably get a MaxJaxx but still considering this EZLift since it is so small and all. Might be nice for what I need also.

Too bad it is $2K. 8-(

If it was $1K, I would have already pulled the trigger and got me one.

How is the space working under the car? Does it feel better like the distance between the bottom parts and your hands feel at a comfortable distance? Or does it still feel like getting around is a pain? That has been about the only, other than price, keeping me from getting one. Like if I get it, it still feels like getting to stuff is a pain and you can't quite work on things without getting fatigued from being parallel.

I'm not sure how to answer that. There is plenty of room to move around under there and you can set it at whatever height that you want, which is nice. I haven't done any real work with it because I just got it ;)

It has much more access than jack stands and not as much as a nice 2 post lift. For me the fact that it doesn't take up any space when I'm not using it and its portability were the key factors.

This looks great, but the price ($1795 when it was on sale) seems really high. I suspect when the sales begin to slow to a trickle, the price will decrease accordingly.

I have a feeling the seller is pretty firm on pricing. I think I emailed before and the style answer I got was they are USA made and the cost of metal was up there so.

Anyway, I think if he sold them for $1K, they would sell like hotcakes. I am surprised some big company has not taken this idea and made a more volume approach and bring the price down. Maybe they don't feel it would sell that well and is OK for the few that need them but that is about it. But I think $1K would be awesome. $2K, no. :headscrat Maybe they really do cost that much to make.

Now, if someone made a lift like this that lifted say 2 foot higher, just enough so you can sit on the ground (padded seat cushion for my old ****) and work that way, I would dig that. tj

Pretty cool buy and it's light weight and portability are certainly great for is capability, but as has been mentioned, too bad this isn't half (or quarter) the price. A bendpak lowrise can be had for $1700 and a clear center low rise for $2300, both lift to the same height hydraulically as the EZCar lift, 6000lb capacity vs 4400lb, and both are over 500lbs worth of steel and/or hydraulic components. At 153lbs of raw materials for $2000 you just aren't getting a lot for your money, made in the USA or not. I'd be much more inclined to copy and build myself than I would a bendpak that's for sure. Probably could be built for $300.

So how does the drive mechanism work anyway? One driven (by drill) shaft running across the car driving a pair of gears on big acme screws on each side that pull the front and back legs together at the top?

I like the idea, but $1700 does seem about 75% too high for a lift that requires a user supplied drill to work.

Time for me to chime in....

I spoke at great length with the guy that makes these when he first started many years ago, price was always high. I was going to be his first paying customer. He came over and took pictures of my car on them (he is local) when I was thinking about these things, the one that lifted my car was a prototype and the design has not changed drastically. I very seriously considered building them myself after I had them at the house for a day but decided to get a BendPak mid-rise instead.

His price seems high to me and always has seemed high and he has never budged on bringing down his price, he is quite proud of these things (rightfully so I think). I often think I should have bought them so I could take them to friends when I work on my back but I prefer the BendPak at home over this things. Nice design and superb attention to detail but I really believe overpriced for what they are.

I have a racer friend who loves his as he takes them to the racetrack, can't do that with the BendPak but when home he prefers my mid-rise also.

Well if I can confirm it would fint under my Vette (it is LOW!!!) I would be interested...but that price:shocking: I had considered the race ramps pit stop ramp...but $2500 for a pile of plastic with no moving parts:wtf: Why is everyone so highly priced on these small lifts? surely they cannot be THAT expensive to make. At $1k I would be in on any one of the 3 (Kwiklift, Raceramps pit stop, or EZcarlift). But they are just too dang expensive...looks handy though

Learned something new today. Never heard of the raceramp pitstops. $2500 :shocking::shocking::shocking:

I understand R&D has to go into products, and time and materials, but these prices are just nuts.

Out of all of these types of lifts, I like the EZcarLift most, as you don't have to drive up onto something which can be a PITA. If I were the inventor of that EZcarLift, I would be trying to get it mass produced as I bet they would sell well if that price was more competitive. I think the seller would make a killing but I just feel at $2+K, he will sell some I am sure to a few but I just can't see a big fortune from it selling in low volumes. Maybe I am wrong, maybe he is shipping these things like nuts. :confused:

rao, I certainly didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. This is a very cool product and a great addition to your garage, and I as well as the other Junkies certainly appreciate your posts on the lift.

I only meant to express my opinion (like others) that I think the seller is making a mistake in his pricing. At the price he is apparently insisting on getting, he's making the buyers decision soley based on portability. I don't fault a buyer for this decision if this is important. However, I think the seller could add other factors (COST VS CAPABILITY) into the decision which equals more sales for him...you can't expect a guy who's considering a 2 or 4 post lift or scissor lift for permanent install in his garage to consider this instead for the same cost. But at half the price they sure would. This is the exact situation I'm in. Whatever I get I'm going to have to move out of the way or park on top of (or in between) every day. Bendpak P-6 and another similar clear center lift has been what I've been considering. This option barely catches my attention because it's only a $300 savings with obvious disadvantages...I can picture my father-in-law saying "you paid $2000 for that". Now the first time I threw it in the truck and took it to his house his tune would change, yes, but you just aren't getting much for your money. So I'm officially beating a dead horse.

My comment about building one should have included the word try...I would be much more tempted to TRY to build one of these than any type of hydraulic lift as it would obviously be much less in material cost than building a full blown lift. The risk of success vs. not would be much better trying to build one of these for the MSRP...

P.S. I'm not just in here to be busting the inventor/sellers chops. If we want to get a group buy proposal together for this guy I'm in....$1000 shipped... if we get this guy looking at 10K in sales in a few days for 2K in materials he'll come around...

How do you know it's $2,000 in materials? What's the ASTM rating of the steel he uses? I can't find the specs on the his site. That's one of the determiners right there. What's the quality and cost of his other materials?

I understand that alot of you are limited in your work spaces as far as lift heights.

But 2k to be laying on your back to work.At even 1k I would not even pull the trigger.

Foe that kind of money it should have its own hydrolics.

If i have to be laying on the floor.Might as well roll the jack and jackstands out.
