I'm moving up to Harpers Ferry/Charlestown for that very reason Coop, building Nirvana shop up there IF I ever find the right property. The queen is a bit picky, and spoiled. Considering the dregs we both grew up in, I'm getting a bit tired of it.......

At that price, it will probably still be available after you find your new place and build your dream shop, talk about wishful thinking. I wouldn't even recommend it unless you're trying to recreate an old lineshaft driven shop or something, far more capable lathes available for less money.

Welcome, neighbor.

BTW, Charles Town is where I scored all of those S-K tools from the trash shed lady.

Just like some of the members here collect vises and anvils there are those out there that collect machine tools. That case with the change gears will bring the price. The rest is just a bonus.

I hear the old flea market shut down... I also heard they may have opened up somewhere else close by...

Yea, they sold the property to the Civil War Trust, who plans on turning it over to the NPS.

The new location is 2 miles up the road next to Long Shots bar and Sheetz gas station on Rt 340. It's a disaster trying to park there as the new flea market owners seem to be learning on the fly how things work. It's now called the Gypsy Flea Market and you can score some great stuff there. I came across a beautiful Chas Parker vise there for 20 dollars the first week it was open.

I'll have to go check it out. I've been meaning to. The one here between Front Royal and Winchester at White Oak isn't really worth it anymore...

Not sure when you go Coop but I get to the flea on 522 (Winchester) at about 6:30. I walk out with bags of tools (mostly ratchets) every weekend. Got a Cornwell top box for $25, Snap On / Wilton vise for $20, tons of stuff. If you care to, we can meet up.

The last couple of times I've gone late on a Sunday. That's probably why I didn't find anything that caught my eye. Let me know the next time you head this way.
