Shame to see a team gone.

I'd like to know which muppet wrote this line in the terms though:

Accepted forms of payment: CASHIER’S CHECK OR WIRE TRANSFER ONLY. NO CREDIT CARDS, NO PERSONAL CHECKS.

Even if that's an outside international company, they could at least have the decency to use the correct language for the country they're working in, and if that's a Brit who's responsible, they want clubbing.

Only you guys would take up that issue. For those that don't know, the Brits call them cheques.

For an F1 team the machinery is modest. The 3 in 1 tool looks like chicom.

imagine how much money they spent kitting it out though.

Probably a good bit more than we'll likely ever make in our lifetime. :D I'm surprised another company hasn't taken over their operation. I've not kept upto date with F1 since Ecclestone gave Sky the broadcast rights, but this is the first time I can recall a team disappearing completely and selling gear off in recent years? All the other instances I can recall, someone has always taken over the outfit.

What can I say; I'm a pedant. :D You've influenced enough adopted **** over here, (Black Friday is an extremely recent example which springs to mind), without our language being dumbed down and barbarised too. :D You take pride in "Made in the U.S.A", I take pride in good use of the Queen's English. :)

I thought the same thing. No way they used some of that machine equipment, after seeing some of thier other stuff in that garage including the measurment equipment. I bet the good stuff is sitting in someone's home garage.

There may not have been any good stuff.

As a back-marker team they bought most of their parts and pieces from outside suppliers versus designing and manufacturing their own.

The actual workshop was pretty disappointing. I expected pristine toolroom machines, not a greasy Harrison lathe and a chicom drill press. No wonder they're out of the game. :lol_hitti

Disappointing....right.......? I see a huge investment in engineering. Faro arms, Romer arms, Hexagon Global CMM w/possibly a scanning head. Massive chassis setups, Multiple printers, including a 250K Stratasys FDM....

Machine shops are everywhere. It's cheaper to pay someone to do the grunt work and hire the smart people to do the engineering instead.

Look closer, you are missing what you are seeing. A $50K Haas is useless to these guys. I'm sure they have a local shop on retainer.
