FAAC 391 gate warning - opening light - Open/Closed

Hi all :)

I hope you're having a nice holiday season !

I have a FAAC 391 24V electric gate with E024S electronic card.

I would like to know if it is possible to connect an "opening indicator" lamp (12V / 24V or 230V flood light for example) which would indicate:

> The gate is open = lamp on / fixed / permanent
> If this is also possible, during opening/closing = flashing / like the flashing lamp of the gate
> The gate is closed = light off.

This assembly would be because I do not see the gate from my home (about 100m away).
Probably with a relay ? (and limit switch if this helps ?) but I'd need your assembly advice. :)

Unless the manufacturer has a kit that does what you want, you're probably going to have to jury rig some micro switches to indicate open and closed gate positions and then do some creative wiring to run the lights/ indicators.
Do you have wiring from the gate to the house or are you wanting to do this wirelessly? Wireless may add another layer of complexity and skills required.
Is this something you can do yourself?

Do you know how should I wire the floodlight (230v) / switch / relay ? (230v ?) / to the gate ?
I think I will run the wire from the gate to the house, the "simpler" I guess ;)

Have you asked your distributor about this? A look through the manual shows that there are accessories available and there is already an output for some sort of flashing light.

I think the flashing light is for a local (at the gate) warning signal that the gate is moving.
Sure, but it looks like all of this has to originate at the gate somehow. And if he can't see the gate, maybe he could see a spotlight near the gate.

The manual I found for the control board isn't totally clear to me as far as the outputs and options go. They talk about options but I don't know where they are described. I think an email to the manufacturer would be the place to start.

You could even use red and green lights to show the gate as closed or open, then if there is no light lit you know something is wrong such as no power

I wired my gate in with basic 12v LED marker lights for a trailer. lets me know when its operating. not status.

using a 24v relay you can then power anything you want really. 120vac, 12v lights, etc.

something like:
I don’t think that is completely accurate. J2 will work while the gate is moving but is limited to 100mA. The common side (24+ in this case) should be J5.

Ahh yes for this use case i agree. J5 is the right choice for him to wire up cheap small lights to tell the status of "gate in motion"

although J2 could run 2.4watts. a 3/4" marker light is 1.5 watts.

the customer request was a status light when the gate was in the not shut condition. either moving direction and when fixed up. J2 and J3 dont offer a status like that. i also dont see any outputs from the gate driver itself.

he'd need to use an external position switch to get the gate status light of "not closed" going. but super straight forward to do.
