I am in a process of building a new table for my garage, which will primarily be used as a welding and also as an engine assembly table and flocking station

Looking for some tips how do design it better

Looking for tips how to better:

1. organize the TIG and its accessories, so that everything is reachable and organized
2. gas cylinder mounts (I have two 10-liter ones)
3. vice best location with respect to TIG location
4. light and socket organization

also any tips or useful tricks with pics how to better the design or add something to it highly appreciated!

Whats a flocking station? And what size table are we talking? Do you have a suitcase inverter tig or a Sync 350?

Ha. You don’t know either! Being a NON pro I was too embarrassed to ask. Thank you.

The size and organization of your space will determine a lot of the practical responses. A table built like a tank isn't something you want to have to wheel in and out of a corner every time you use it. If you're doing delicate work, you could throw a piece of ply on some sawhorses.
believe it or not, you can weld without having a 1" steel plate table top. I don't like having a vise where I weld. If i'm doing piddly ****, sure, whatever.

Ultimately, build something you can work off of, and change it to suit your needs. It is a table. You're not building a watch. Quit overthinking stuff like 90% of the members here tend to do.

Personally I like keeping consumables, torch tips and nozzles on a shelf away from the welding table. Easier to keep clean and organized.

I can't post links/pics yet, but flocking is process of covering bits in special synthetic electrocuted fibers

I usually run it on all my cars, old habit from rally - reduces glare from windshield

the welder is suitcase type mig, Aurora Overman 200

one of neat things I've seen is welding a short piece of pipe at 45 degrees on a side of the table as the mig gun holster :)
not trying to overthink, just organize - for cutting and grindingtools, industrial fan mount etc

trying to make it to the min 5 posts so I can start posting pictures :)

Flockprinting is an aggressive electrostatic action using severe heat to force finely chopped fibers onto patterns of fabric ultimately resulting in soft touch

I always run a bar between two of the legs for hanging clamps on. I'll also say that I would never do engine building in the same area as welding unless you absolutely have no choice. One stray *********** can really ruin your day.

Make annoying comments on three other threads so that you can start planning your table.

I do that all the time[emoji1]

I did, I intentionally went to Leroy Merlin looking for them
ended up finding small ones that I thought were ok, until I came home to realize they have plastic bases (and not rubber), which would make the table skate across the garage floor all day long :(

Go get some rubber from Home Depot and epoxy or screw it to those.
Search rubber leveling feet on Amazon. Hundreds
