Thoughts on this table top?
It’s (3) 12”x24” plates that are 3/4” thick for a work area of 36”x24”.
The aluminum base is machined to allow the plates to be screwed down and made perfectly level.

The Fireball tables are very nice. I got to play around with them at Fabtech last fall and couldn't really find anything I didn't like (we run Bluco and Siegmund at work). That table would be a solid option for a home setup. Not a bad price either considering the materials and work they probably have to put into making one.

I'm surprised with the price. I don't think I could buy that aluminum bar stock and 3/4" plate for that amount buying on a retail level.

If you were a space-limited DIYer this setup would be awesome. You could set it on a couple sawhorses, 55-gal drums, or whatever and have a legit work surface. Get done, take it apart and store it against a wall or under another bench.

I see guys wanting half that much for cobbled up tables on Marketplace. Don't think that's a bad deal at all.

As long as the bottoms are flat, i think I'd find myself throwing an individual section on my normal workbench and using it there as well

Congratulations on your new table. Post a full review once you've used it! One word of caution about Dragon Scale, it is a very durable surface treatment but not impervious all abuse. It'll still be good practice to wipe down the table with anti-splatter time to time.

That would be a nice table, in addition to another welding table. I run outta room too much already on my 4x4.

Bought one of these at Fab-Tech when they 1st came out with them. Not cheap, but it has been flawless and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. For me, it is the perfect size (48 x 30) and being a coated steel top, it is incredibly durable. (I'd be worried about chipping the cast iron). Another great this about the Strong Hand is that the top is reversible, so there is always a "new" top when you have abused the 1st side enough.

My buddy has the exact same one in your link. Yes they are expensive. Unfortunately for me we both built my table last year which is in one of the post above. I have probably $1100 into it with material. It weighs probably about 1200 pounds.

What are the limits? I was just actually watching his YouTube video on the dragon scale, and saw where the splatter just wipes right off the table and where he also cut a piece of steel with a torch and all of the molten just rubbed off the table like it wasn’t even there.
