Face Shield that works well with ear protection

Does anyone else have this problem? I find a great face shield, in this case the UVEX Bionic face shield and it works great until you need ear protection, which I use often when grinding/cutting metal. I have tried tons of shields and ear protection, and aside from the in-ear plugs, I can't find anything that is comfortable and works well with each other.

I like the ease of the on ear protection (easy on easy off), but the face shields always get in the way. I see Husqvarna makes one but the reviews say it's a super lightweight shield that only works when trimming grass.

Anybody have any other options?

Have you ever tried "behind the head" ear muffs? We use them in conjunction with a face shield often.

I've been using E.A.R. foam earplugs for decades. Very comfortable and I usually forget that I'm wearing them until someone talks to me. No interference with safety glasses or shields. I even wear them when riding motorcycles because I don't wear a full faced helmet and the wind noise gets annoying sometimes.

I use bionic shield mask with 3M peltor cans and plain old standard safety glasses with no issues.

What specifically are you having an issue with?

I've just taken to wearing a 7800 full-face respirator and X5A ear protection. If I'm grinding or jackhammering or doing anything else that's showering my face with debris, it's usually making dust I don't want to breathe, either.

With the full-face, there's no way for stuff to get in your eyes from the side and they don't fog up either.

The straps can be finessed around the earmuffs so it all works. Takes like 10 seconds to put on.

Looks goofy, but who cares. Fashion is less important than avoiding eye injuries, tinnitus, or getting junk in my lungs. I don't need any more of the above.

I recently bought a Bionic shield and use these SensGuard hearing protectors. I have used them with other face shields as well.

The arched connector does not have to go over your head. I usually wear it behind my neck, but you can also let it hang in front of your neck.
