Facebook Snap On groups Scams

I’m a member of several Facebook groups that lately have been posting deals that are too good to be true. All brand new Snap On tools for 1/4 or less of new. One example is a $3000 large wrench set for $500. I’ve noticed that all the posts on the groups are only being allowed by the group admins, I’m guessing so they can take down any posts or comments calling them out. They are using the same pictures of new Snap On items that they are “selling” across multiple groups with different peoples names. All who are admins of that group. These peoples profiles all seem to be less than 6 months old.

Perhaps Snap-on corporate would take up putting an end to this?

You can report groups to Facebook, but if they shut down and/or ban the individuals, I guess they'll make new groups and new profiles.

I reported them to Facebook. It will be interesting to see what they do. I would imagine the people getting scammed will report them too. Probably get shut down and just start a new group. The old saying "if it seems too good to be true, probably is"! Hopefully they haven't scammed too many people.

This is one of my favorites that I've called out. Reporting the pages do nothing, new ones just pop up, and there's enough bots / people with a room temperature IQ to get them populated again. I only buy from people that will take paypal since they're the only ones that will do anything to protect you, but it's pretty easy to sniff out the scammers.

I reported one of those pages and Facebook replied to my report to say they were doing nothing wrong. The one I reported probably stole thousands of $$ successfully based on how much traffic it was getting.

I run a few groups on Facebook and the scammers are constant problem. Like others have said only do PayPal goods and services, not friends and family. That is the only Safe Way to deal with somebody you don't know and occasionally there are problems but PayPal will get you your money back. Number one thing to realize is anybody claiming to be a Snap-on dealer that is selling on the Internet is a fraud as it is part of the franchise agreement they are prohibited from doing that or selling out of their territory. While there are some legitimate deals on new tools most of the stuff is used where you will find the deals. Number one thing to remember is if it sounds too good to be true, it is. The vast majority of these scamming bastards are from either India or Cameroon.

Yeah I was trying to see if there was a legitimate tool marketplace group, and stumbled upon endless scams. Like when you see a $800 ratchet set being sold for $150, there ain't no way
