Another order from Mister Worker came in. This time, a set of Facom flex/hinged ratcheting wrenches (7-19mm, set 467BF)..... and some Hazet things.
Some European forum members spoke highly of Facom, Mister Worker has been awesome to deal with, and I needed a new set of ratcheting wrenches... so the "math" worked. The Facom stuff kinda spoke to me for two reasons: Nicer open ends than my GearWrench stuff, and from the pictures, the box ends seemed less thick in the OD. The thick box ends on the GearWrench stuff kept them from fitting in in far too many applications on what I work on.
They arrived this week, and I'm really pleased with what I'm seeing. Open ends are groovy. I'm actually digging the shorter length. The ratcheting box wrench is indeed "thinner" in the OD than the GearWrench stuff. The 10m wrench has a 0.5mm smaller "OD" than the GearWrench..... the 17mm is easily 1.5mm smaller. The difference matters. I've already found some places on the old Volvos that infest my garage where the Facom is a "go" and the GearWrench a no go. The Facoms seem smooth and well made. I don't really give two socks about "warranty".
What else is nice? These are priced right in the same place in the market as (if not cheaper than) GearWrench/Tekton/Milwakee/Whatever. Satin finish seems kinda nice.
