How are Facoms ratchets and pliers? I've seen alot of good deals on the tools and would like some opinions on them... i'm just a weekend mechanic not a pro. I like buying tools that will last a lifetime, but Snap on is just crazy!

The ratchet i'm looking at is the j.161 series for about 50 dollars... i love the look of it. I can get the whole set in metric for about 150! That seems like a good deal to me. Anyone use the pliers?

I have a set of facom combo wrenches and a set of facom impact sockets and they are first rate.

I have the Facom pliers referenced in the following thread from about 5 years ago. The quality is good but they would not be my first choice. The water pump style pliers are not as good as my Knipex but they do have a small head that give access where others would not. The needle nose plier are Ok but the jaws don't touch through the full length if they are closed. That drives me nuts so I don't think they are as nice as my Klein pliers.

The quality is great but they are not the best you can find in my opinion. However, they would be a good buy at the right prices.
