New 1/4" drive hybrid set that's a mix of Facom and USAG components. Compare with the Facom R.161-6M6 that has fewer bits and sockets and a $100+ higher price tag. Carry case measures 8 1/4" x 5 1/4".

I'm not too sure of the long term durability of using the flex head bit driver as a 1/4 square drive ratchet with sockets. :dunno:

I own it and it does a great job with bits.

USAG has the 610 1/4 EFK low profile socket set which has a slightly different version of the ratchet built to grip the 11 mm hex on the low profile socket. I think the advantage of this set being that you can use almost any length 11 mm ratcheting wrench with sockets as long as you're careful since most regular ratcheting wrenches lack the spring retainer to hang on to the low profile sockets.

Before the HX series came out with the super low profile sockets, the first kit Facom/USAG introduced with the ultra compact PICO case was the R1PICO. It is a combination socket (only 5 sizes) and bit set and uses the R.180 flex head ratchet.

You can always go with a non-flex version of this bit ratchet (R.PE) but if I'm dealing with anything over 10-15 ft lbs, I'll probably be using the R.161B or jump to 3/8" drive.

I have this Facom R1PICO set. Although very expensive, it packs a lot of utility into a pocket-sized case with a smooth shape and rounded corners. The case is tough and the latch slides sideways against a spring to open, meaning it can be opened easily with one hand but never opens accidentally. The whole thing feels better in the hand than it looks in pictures.

The sockets are standard 1/4" drive 6, 8, 10, 12, and 13 mm – about perfect if you have room for only five sockets. The locking flex-head ratchet is great too: tiny, versatile, strong, and low back-drag. In short, the whole package is very well thought out.

My only complaint after having used it for a couple of years is that the flat-head screwdriver bits are a bit big. The smallest is 4.5 mm and I more often need a smaller size than that (for example, wiring strip connectors) than I need the biggest size, which is 8 mm. I’ll probably replace that bit at some point.

I am usually against gimmicks but find much of Facom’s recent innovation in sets and cases to be practically useful. They’re clearly pushing this packaging angle hard.

The nice thing about these cases is you can put in the sockets and bits that you'll actually use. Some guys have me put in fractional sockets or change some of the bits. For this set, I'd replace the 6mm with a 14mm (can be used for 9/16" fasteners).
