Facom wrenches on the MAC truck!

Mac has a set of combo wrenches made by Facom on their truck now! I saw them today. They are called MAC precision torque and are identical. Ill post a link when i get home!

They've been out for a few months now, checked 'em out a while back. Look interesting. Seems like a 30 degree offset on the open end, anyone know exactly what it is?

yup, $179.99, 6 to 19mm, and came with the free jacket. He had the SAE set on the truck too. The open end features the knuckle saver design maybe that's what makes them "precision torque":dunno:

yup..... but I'm paying for the service too, good luck getting one of those Facom wrenches warrantied in a hurry when u need it, I can just hand mine to the Mac guy. I'm OK with that:thumbup:

None of those sets are a direct equivalent. I'm guessing a Facom branded set would run around $120 and not have KS2 open ends.

Good luck getting Facom warrantied period. I'm out several hundred dollars due to their non warranty. Oddly enough I replaced their POS tool case that self destructed within a year with a MAC.

That's what a lot of the tool polishing destroy it yourselfers need to realize... I break something, I call my tool truck and he makes things happen. I NEED something that I don't have, I call/text/email and things happen. If he can't make it happen, he has people to call to make what I need to make money happen. This is a premium I pay for, this is the cycle of capitalism. That premium pays for his truck, pays for the fuel to get to my place of business, his insurance, and his overhead to have tools IN HAND to sell to me.

I wonder if these are meant to replace the standard Mac wrenches? It would stink if they replaced those classics with an import...but that is the Mac way i suppose.

No knuckle saver modifed open end on these wrenches. They have a different profile and shape than a regular combination wrench but, there aren't any teeth or notches in the open end to grip better with it.

I don't think they're meant to replace US made mac wrenches. I think it's more a case of Stanley inspired globalization. You can see these wrenches, the Mac Clones of Facom flex head ratchets and their imported Expert line in this month's flyer at mactools.com

They do indeed have the knuckle saver open end, I bought them and have been using them for a couple of days now, and so far they're great.

Yep, these have Stanley globalization finger prints all over them.:mad:

I hope not but probably yes. For such a long and rich history Stanley HAD with American toolmaking they are chompin at the bit to send every last production process overseas.

The US made Mac wrenches are some of the nicest wrenches ever produced in terms of function. Those and some of the Cornwells of the late 90s.

I bought these since I am currently working on one of the most successful and expensive vintage race cars in the world so I decided to get a fresh set of wrenches I bought the 6-24 and 1/4-1 1/4 and so far I love them I have used them standard and titanium hardware the box end grabs extremely well and there was a few times that I set down the snap on to grab these due to the offset which I really like. All of my co workers really seemed to like these wrenches in some cases better then the snap on wrenches I am fortunate enough that are race team give us 500 dollars toward tools every 1/4 year so I will
Keep both snap on and Mac

Why would any sane person pay a premium for this? Just because of the Mac stamp?

Judging by the flyer, Mac seems to pride itself in making clothing than tools. :lol:
