I found a guy selling 8 of these cabinets. I'd like to get one to keep all my detailing supplies in. He says they are over $250 new and come with the keys. I've seen pictures of a few other members with similar cabinets and was wondering what would be a fair price for one?

What brand are they? I have two Sandusky cabinets I bought from SAMs club about 10 years ago. I swear I only paid $80.00 for them at the time
, Wanting to purchase two more I Looked on the website about 4 years ago to see msrp was around $250. I used mine to store all my auto paint. I don't know what the used market value are for those but if they are the same quality as the ones I own I would pay $80.00 for them.

I've picked up 2 of them at $25 and $35 a piece, but they weren't in that nice of shape. I usually see them go for $75-$100 a cabinet.

I need one more, but I don't want to pay that much. then, I can sand them all down and paint them.

I have been watching craigs list and auctions for them for about a year.
Most I have seen are going between $80 & $100 for used

as always, the price is determined by how much the buyer will give and how little the seller will take and this is different in every case.

Do you really think there is one price that covers every transaction in America???

Go back and read my first sentence again. Has Walmart pricing warped your brain?

One of your cabinets may have a dent. Does that change its value?

$80-100 is a fair price.

The harder part is getting them to match. They are not all built to the same specs and come in different widths, heights, and shelf configurations. Some need the door latches rebuilt.

If you plan to repaint them, best buy 2-3 so they can be all in a row and look nice. Do all your welding or customization first- I would suggest mounting pegboard on the inside of the doors with shallow hooks to hold things like saw blades, card mounted new stuff, other shallow items. If you really want to go to town, you can put in shallow shelves on the inside of the doors for solvents/spray cans depending upon the internal dept of the shelves.

I would gladly buy three of them now if I could find a matching set.

I don't shop at Walmart, so I wouldn't know...didn't know they sold office supply cabinets anyways.

Anyways, the seller seems to be holding firm on $150, which is about twice what I'm willing to pay. It seems like going rate around the country (or atleast this small sample size on GJ) is under $100. I'll hold off for now. Thanks for the responses!

Yes - Wife and I are kicking ourselves. About a year ago someone at an Estate Sale had 6 or 8 identical 2-Door Cabinets with built in shelves in perfect condition for $15.00 each. We didn't need them AT THE TIME.

I've been there, passed on cabinets then needed them later. Lately I've been coming across killer deals on cabinets and storage items and have been picking them up. Problem is now I'm running out of room to put them. I have so much storage now I don't know what to do with it all.
