Fairchild Saw

I saved this old saw out of my grandmas basement when we were cleaning it out a while back. I tried googling it and couldn't find much. I was wondering if anybody knew anything about it. If you have any guesses on how old it would be, any info about the brand or the quality of the saw I would love to hear about it even if it is pretty much a door stop. My knowledge on old tools is pretty much zero, would appreciate the help to learn.

A short history of Fairchild Camera and Instrument: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairchild_Camera_and_Instrument Based on the information in the link, that saw was made sometime after 1944.

My knowledge of the company was when they were called Fairchild Semiconductor, they were a well known brand and built quality electronics. I never knew they had their hand in power tools, but then again a lot of companies jumped into that market in the 1950s and then jumped back out again after a few years.
