I don't know about others, but I started noticing some changing on my way into work every day along the highway back in mid-August.

If I knew where you were posting from I might find that surprising... :lol_hitti

Silly Bennington flatlander, the leaves have been gone for a week now!:rocker::bounce:
well certainly not wayyyy down here in the prairies, these pics were taken just before posting, save one. in my area its mostly only sugar maples that still have leaves, but trees on my property; red oak, cherry, norway maple...and every maple for that matter... still have some leaves on them.

Took these this morning. Cloud cover dulled the colors substantially, but it's still an impressive view.

You cactus guys made me spew coffee on my keyboard. Otherwise, view from the porch looked like this last week. This week they lowered the water in the lake and the ducks are collecting here to start their trek south.

That's a cool view. Where are you in NY?

now thats a view! Near the canadian border?

Letchworth state park from the south side near the dam.

See Canoe's post #27 for similar.

Again, it was overcast so the colors got real flat. I stopped because the sun was peaking out a few minutes before. The gorge is about 550 feet at the deepest point. That's the Genesee river.

im pretty sure another member's shots in this thread were of this very area. pretty place, nice bald eagle!

Yeah, I knew that....figured he'd chime in sooner or later.
Got lucky seeing the eagle. It was the end of our day hiking & I took one last look at the view around the dam. And there he was soaring above......perfect end to the day. It is a beautiful park & I highly recommend it for anyone visiting the area.

You live in Vermont, not Alaska :bounce:

Actually, New England is a bit odd, weather wise. When Alaska is warm, NE is cold, and vise versa. Boston can be colder in the winter than Anchorage some days. And anyone who lives south of the mountains is a flatlander. The Berkshire "bumps" don't count.
