FAMCO #2 missing base plate and retaining collar

Hi all,

I just obtained a FAMCO #2 arbor press, looking to make it more functional.

Its missing the base plate (anvil table). Any tips on where I could get a replacement that might be ugly but cheap? Making my own without a mill/lathe could be trouble, I do have a drill press and die grinder but that might be quite a bit of work with those.

Would the missing retaining collar create some issue? If so I think I can find a wheel of piece of tube with set screw to put there.

The spline/gear is covered in grease currently, not sure if that should be heavy oil instead?

Thanks!

Shaft collars are readily available at various places like farm supply and McMaster, or even Amazon.

Daisy wheels can be found on eBay and other places in the web. Just need to know what diameter.

A chunk of aluminum plate is readily sawn and drilled to form whatever sort of anvil plate you might want, or you can lurk on Ebay; there's quite a selection there.
