I bought this Famco No. 1 years ago at an auction because it was the right price. I just stored it then since I have a Dake already mounted in the shop.
Moving things around and unburied it and my curiosity has gotten to me.
It has obviously been repurposed for some kind of fabrication use. You can see by the removable platen design that it was set up for something other than just a straight press as I normally use one. perhaps I am just not aware of all of the uses for an arbor press.
Any answers for the use or even a guess?

Please excuse the rather poor pictures, my better camera is in use out of state by my wife at the moment. I should know better than to use a cheap cell phone camera on a dark floor inside with a flash.

There were also a "few' tools that came with it. See photos.

Yup, punch. Each of the disks in the 3rd pic should have an associated sized punch. The grids could be for similar tasks in punching multiple holes in the board.

Awesome selection of tooling with it. With all those options I'd be searching the shop for things to run through it. Looks like a nice piece of equipment that would be as functional today as the day it was made. I hope you got a screaming deal on it.

I just did a quick Google search on that press. Yup, you did real well, especially with all that tooling.
