Fan control

I wasn't sure if I should post here or electrical, but here goes. I have a 30yr old Vermont Casting fireplace insert with fans. After 29 yrs I managed to break off the speed control knob for it. The control itself plugs into the wall outlet, then the insert plugs into the control. The control sits behind the AV cabinet and was hard to get at anyway. I'm looking for a new control to turn the fans on and control their speed. WIFI control would be great. Any suggestions? TIA

Have you called Vermont Castings or looked on their Internet site.? I'm thinking maybe just a dimmer switch. Have you looked at the tag on the blower motor? Maybe a trip to an electrical shop. How about info on the control itself....is there a name or info on it?
