Good afternoon,

I recently traded for an old LPG unit heater that I would like to run in my shop. I have looked it over pretty careful and feel the after re-wiring it will be fine, however, I can't find an interchange for the fan limit switch. Any chance y'all could point me in the right direction?

It says it a “Type A” and the patent number (2394747) is from 1946. It would control a 120v fan. The furnace is a Bryant and the model number is 85A. I have some pictures, but am unsure of how to post them with photobucket no longer being free.

Naturalgas, because the original wire is cloth coated and has been a relatively high humidity area probably since 1946 (date of the us patent). I think some new wire and components would go a long way to helping my peace of mind.

Zmaxmotorsports, I'll get some posted. Have to find a new way of hosting them first.

Thanks,
BA

Look at White-Rodgers 5D51 Series Universal Fan & Limit controls, like 5D51-35.

I've looked at the suggestions and I'm still lost. I guess if there isn't a direct replacement how would i tell the temp range to find something that would, electronically speaking, do the same job? Or, if there sort of a middle of the road set of temps that would work in this application?

In my experience, unless the existing wiring is literally falling apart, you aren't doing yourself any favors by rewiring it. If it's in good shape leave it alone...
