Working on lights/electrical in my shop this weekend. I want to put a couple fans on the ceiling. I am looking for advice where/how many. I obviously can’t put it where my overhead door rolls up. I also don’t want it above the 24x24 room. I am going to have storage above that but only about 7’. I plan to have a radiant tube heater eventually also. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

3 fans.

Two on the open area on the top of you picture and one in the center of the lowered, smaller are.

You can place the top right and lower one so they are lined up with one another when looking from the outside of the 20' door.

Putting them on the ceiling seems dangerous. I usually try to put them in front of me, slightly elevated and off to the side and I work with my toolbox behind me so that they can have a good view of that as well. I take my role seriously and value their hard earned ticket dollars. There are plenty of other guys to watch.

What about seating? Cushions or bare bleachers?

If you have any plans to put in a lift, now or in the future, plan for that ahead of time. Depending on the vehicle, sometimes I have to turn my fan off to avoid taking out the radio antenna.
