bought an fan that set high in the gable with a two speed motor, i want to add a switch on wall to control speeds. I know how the wire it but just can remember what the switch is called, I want a slow off high.

what is it called?

I believe what you’re looking for is a three position switch. Google that and I’m sure you’ll come up with something that works

I say call J&D... They are very knowlegable and helpful.

Have your full motor nameplate info.

The through wall louvered fans we have from them have a 3 cond hot/neut/gnd pigtail SO type cord 6' tail and an optional infinite j box mount control...in my case NOT a multi tap motor.

Or call a local old school small motor rewind shop.
