Is it actually solid titanium or just steel covered with gold colored titanium nitride? My guess is the latter.

Ko-ken actually makes a socket set out of solid titanium. Don't ask for the cost. ;)

Titanium tool kit by Facom for the McLaren F1.
Gordon Murray was obsessed with weight reduction, but still put a functioning tool kit into a car you were not going to be working on on the side of the road.

Gordon Murray is talking to Facom UK again, this time for the McLaren F1s successor

The "GMA T50" which predictably is even more bonkers than the F1

Cosworth N/A V12/Stick shift/980kgs and a whopping great suction fan underneath/£2.5 million if you want one!!!

I did some Googling... several hits said the wrenches are titanium but they varied on the gold color. Some said the gold color was gold plating and some said it was titanium nitride. Most didn't mention the pliers at all but some made a point of pointing out that the pliers are plated steel, not titanium. I didn't see any mention of the rest of the kit. The bits are probably steel with titanium nitride, since that is readily available.

Honda put a nicer than normal tool kit on the flagship RC30 homologation special sold 87-90 world wide. The tools were still period low quality construction, but included a ratchet and some sockets and bits. I saw a used set on eBay for $445 that was missing some parts. People are restoring the bikes for big $$$ and I guess they need the kit. Mine is still on hand although they’re not in the bag. Lightweight canvas bag slowly deteriorating in my shop. This is a pic of the ebay item.

When I get too old to ride this bike it might be worth a lot more parted out given the relatively high mileage. Due to scarcity OEM parts are going for huge money.
