Hello!

I retired as a civilian with the U.S. Government last year and remained in Germany. I'm in the process of setting up my basement workshop and found Ryan's BF/MFT workbench on Youtube and the Festool Owners Group.

While I won't be building any cars in my basement, I plan on making a lot of furniture and furnishings for my house. Making a smaller version of the BF/MFT is my next shop project.

Mike

How many people recognize the old ASA emblem? My dad was CSM of USASAE back in the day, later on CSM of all of ASA/Inscom. Spent all of my formative years in Germany. Great place and times.

I'm near Darmstadt, which is about 20km south of Frankfurt. I've been to Ramstein and Landstuhl many times.

I was ASA when I joined the Army in 1975 and INSCOM when I left in 1979. I retired as a DAC with INSCOM last year. I'm always impressed when someone recognizes the ASA emblem.

It's been an enjoyable ride until recently, but the time has come for me to take a break. The constant Cloudflare interruptions are too distracting. Even typing this short message required two Cloudflare verifications and one "Document expired" notice before I could post the reply.

I'll check back in a few months to see if the AI threat has subsided to the point that the Cloudflare countermeasure is relaxed.
