My local ace has had deals on craftsman from time to time. Usually basic stuff like screwdrivers, tapes, tool bags, etc. Every once in awhile a deal on a socket set or a wrench set but rarely.

The local Fastenal has carried C-man for years. And all these years, the prices have been insane expensive.

Coach

I find everything at Fastenal to be expensive. I only use them so we can get back to work quickly....time is money!

In your basement...seriously, go look now!
Ace has been selling Craftsman for years and since Kmart bought Sears it's no surprise to find Craftsman in the aisles. Sometimes I can find a decent sale on Cman at one of my three local Kmarts but the Ace stores rarely have a sale going on - they do however stock mostly American made Cman.

what brand/coo got replaced to make room for the Craftsman?

I was there yesterday. They got rid of Allen (USA) stuff. Essentially it was the same as craftsman only it was all USA. Now its, well, craftsman.

Pretty sure Craftsman will be okay regardless of what happens to Sears, brand name is too valuable.

Its either going to get snatched up by Chinese company who will kill any association with value it has left with the general public or will be bought by a company who will try to make quality tools again.

At least Mills Fleet Farm has USA made Allen which is basically craftsman with a different name stamped on it. Also a hell of a selection of felo screwdrivers.
