Does anyone else besides me have a problem getting all the contents out of the container. I wind up cutting the jug open and dip out the left overs into another half full container. I love the hand cleaner I despise the pump.

Most pumps ****. I save them. Seems many break before the contents empty.

In your case the design is an issue.

I use the same container. The pump almost ALWAYS dies right at the 25% capacity mark.

Keyblazer, I placed an order. Guess we are going to see how this works.

Yes, I have the same container in use right now. I've found a slight dilution of the contents helps -- the lower viscosity allows the cleanser to redistrute (and pump) better, especially if the container is given a shake once in a while. It doesn't take much dilution.

I gave up on the large containers of hand cleaner because the pumps always clogged well before running out of product. I buy the smaller squeeze type containers instead.

We use the Cintas hand cleaner with walnut shells at work, made by ZEP, it smells odd like gingerbred or something... Anywho, in the dispensers you can't get it all out so I scrounge the leftovers sitting around the wash sink and cut the bottles apart at home and use that... Once I get my shop completely done I'm putting in a sink and I have one of the dispensers for that soap... It drives me nuts at work when people will take like 8 pumps of the stuff, seriously 1 to 1.5 pumps, rub it on your hands, wet them then scrub and you are good to go...

I'll go with the dilution deal as well, if it's thick it probably won't pump, but shy of that grab a smaller squeeze bottle and put it in there...

Pump clogs ever container I buy. I use the pump pick up stem to scoop a little bit out of the container.

I just gave up with all the waterless hand soaps as they have become useless over the past few years. I finally settled on the dollar store hand soaps that come in the jugs. I pour a little into my hand and without water I begin to scrub and then dip my hands in a light touch of water and lather up. I can 90-95% of the grime, grease, oil off my hands on the first scrub. I then repeat and get the rest off.

Sign me up for the class action lawsuit.

I've got three of the same containers the OP posted a picture of sitting in my shop. I have to use the pump as a spoon to get the cleaner out.

Fool me three times, shame on me. I won't be fooled again.

Add a little water half way through the container.......shake.......problem solved.

As an alternative I use a lot more of these products:

Not just for this, but for all pump products, I always wait until I get a new container to about half, then I pour the last bit from the old container into the new container.

Pump container packaging is a rip-off no matter the product. I swear hand cream products leave 20% of the product out of reach of the pump stem.
Makes you purchase more, sooner than you should have to.

I've been using the gallon bottles of Fast Orange for years and have never had a pump problem. I do occasionally shake the bottle well to keep the pumice from settling out. Maybe that keeps it from clogging.

Sometimes you can get the pump to work again by pulling it out and rinsing with warm water inside and out; get some water in there and pump to get the crusties out.

But mostly it's a lost cause, and yep, it's a small thing but extremely irritating.

I don't have a problem with them, either. When a gallon container gets low, I get another and pour the leftover from the near-empty container into the new. No big deal.

I quit using Gojo decades ago when an in-law gave me a container of orange/pumice hand cleaner - Gojo had nothing on it.

My problems with the pump ended when I stopped using the stuff with the ground up concrete in it

Bingo!!! You have a ten cent plastic pump you're running sand through, you actually believe it stands a chance? I buy a squeeze bottle and refill with the gallon jug. My pumps last forever!

I gave up and bought a Zep wall dispenser. I don't know how long it will last, but so far, so good. We had one at work with dozens of guys using it all day long, so I'm optimistic. The final straw was a bottle of Zep Cherry Bomb with a pump that failed before I got 10% of the contents out of it.

Decent gloves helps too. 8 mil thick don't blow out with every little thing but aren't overly thick.

Course they are stupid expensive right now.

I bought a 100 ct box before the rona. $16.

Now, almost $70

I rarely use dedicated hand cleaners any more (gave up on pump dispensers years ago). Gloves, of course, work well. A shop towel with water and dish soap easily removes ground in grease when I don't use gloves.

Seriously Guys, try the Dr Bronners Peppermint Castile liquid soap I posted about before.
I started using it 5 years ago, and don’t miss the orange goop, pumps, pumice and stuff.
It’s so much better!
As in my thread, I just finished a big repair on my daughters 20 yo 2001 Cherokee that has a layer of black oil over everything.
I put a squirt of it on one palm, rub it in, and this thick black layer just floats off. No grittiness, abrasive or anything. I use one of those Walmart nylon scrubby Pom-Pom things that are like a buck a piece to speed the process in the shower, and rarely need a nail brush, this stuff is SO good!
Never leaves my skin rough, or dry and smells great.
I get mine at Trader Joe’s, but Amazon has it but more $.
Get it people, try it, feel free to tell me I’m wrong and full of it… you won’t believe how good it is…. I didn’t.

Gallon bottles are narrow and can be tilted to get more out before having to take the time to pour remains into the New bottle. But my pump on my last gallon survived till empty.

Not sure why, but I guess I was there at the time of need... But somehow I ended up with a new bottle of GooP orange this round. Wow does this SHtuff dry out my hands. Never again.

I used to get the wall packs of Go-Jo for free. Before that was Kresto brand. But if I have to pay for hand cleaner now, I like the $11 gallon Fast Orange at wallyworld.

This is the stuff. Made in the USA somewhere, I wanna say Oklahoma, 10 times better than that orange **** or gojo type stuff, and smells better too come in everything from a little squeeze tube to a 5 gallon bucket, also comes with grit and a green label. It's the best I've seen yet

Yeah, I've never seen a pump with pumice last. The systems that pump pumice that are reliable put pressure on the entire container, squeezing it out. I remember Gojo used to have a piston that the tub fit into that worked like this.

It depends on what kind of work you do. I've tried just about every type of hand cleaner and nothing works better for me than the Fast Orange, especially when working on older heavy equipment. The pumice makes all the difference with ground in greasy, dirt. It also does't leave your hands smelly. Yes, the pump is worthless.

Back when I was a tech, our shop would do product testing for Kimberly Clark since their headquarters is very near the dealer I worked at. We ended up testing Kimberly Clark's "KimCare" in various formulations and we would do product surveys on each batch. The one we ended up choosing as best is what is currently in stores.

If anyone is willing to do so, give it a shot. It's pretty good (and I had something to do with it!) and the pump isn't total ****.

My pump died at 75% fill capacity. It was also very stiff and shoots the cleaner everywhere.

I've worked in product management for years now... A good product poorly executed always ends up in one place... Losing sales and hurting overall brand perception.

Love the actual product itself but because of the bad pump, I will be moving on to other suggested cleaners in this thread.

I have two things of Zep hand cleaner at home. One has the older style more square like pump that stopped working after about 25% of the bottle. The newer more round pump has held up great and the bottle is almost empty.

Grit in the hand cleaner is what destroys the pump. I always tossed the pump and used a dowel to pull up enough cleaner to clean my hands.
