So I went to the local Fastenal to get some stainless bolts for my project. I walked in and they had this little dude sitting there for 50 bucks. Matches my Stanley Vidmar box nicely and freed up some room in it as well. Each box is on friction slides and is removable. All steel construction with plastic tray inserts. I though it was a decent deal.

I have a fastenall one similar to it but IIRC, I paid much more than that. Maybe 3 times? Nice grab.

The guy said he had more of the boxes in the back. I might pick up a few more when I go back Monday to get my bolts. If the price is right on the individuals that is.

It came with the little stand as well. I'm not going to use it and more than likely will scrap it.

I have the same setup. Floor stand and all. (I dont use the stand either)

Very nice and extremely convenient. I have one drawer on mine filled with Electrical crimp connectors. Its great to be able to pull out the drawer and then take the box out and carry it over to the car!

Can you please post some pics of your 17 drawer lista (?)?. I remember seeing it before, that is so sweet. Hands down the most in^2 storage space for the amount of in^2 floor space it takes up. What do you keep in there? General hand tools?

Damn, that's a you **** deal!! I've got a few of the metal boxes myself along with a bunch of Jandorf plastic drawers from the hardware store.

Fastenal company-wide started a program earlier this year where customers can cut a deal with Fastenal to be provided new hardware bins in exchange for increased business or a sort of leasing program. If you have a good manager that is old-school and replacing a lot of old or non-Fastenal bins, you might be able to work something out if they are "putting them in the dumpster" or something.

The stores' cost on the individual bins is around $21 a pop new, and the 4 drawer racks are about $75 IIRC. I personally didn't think we were getting all that great of a deal on them from Durham based on what I've seen in retail stores and considering we were a wholesaler. $50 for a complete used unit is pretty great though. I would have bought several at that price if I didn't have a bunch I rescued from the dumpster already :).
