What do you have to say about Father's Day 2016? Do you have any tool gifts picked out to give your dad? A lot of stores usually have a big tool sale with a lot of neat stuff. Do you ever take advantage of the sales and buy what you want for yourself also? How about showing us the big sale items you have found?

nothing picked out, i dont ask or expect anything.

my oldest stepdaughter usually gives me a call, and wishes me happy fathers day. rarely hear from the other 2 kids, unless they are asking for $$

she doesnt call me dad to my face, but i always hear from her.

i just spent over $200 on brake parts for my mud truck, so any "gifts" are out of the question right now.

usually get a "special" gift from the wife :pimpflash

My father in law was given a craftsman from his father in law back in 1959 When he married my mother in law (no not a wedding gift). Back in the late 1990's my father in law asked me if I could get him a new set of jaw inserts for his craftsman's vise. We it was long disc. and no parts were available, So this year I had Member Kevin54 make a new set of jaw inserts for his vise, So this year for father's day, I will give my father in law a new set of jaw inserts for his vise that was given to him by his father in law. My father died when I was a mere 15 years of age. Although I have many memories of him, celebrating Fathers Day is not one of them. I would do a lot of special things for him if it were possible. What I will do is cherish the memories that I have of him and in his honor I strive to be the best person that I possibly can.

I feel lucky, me and my dad built our 24 by 32 pre constructed shop in 1983 and have shared a lot of time in the shop. He is still in great shape walks 2 miles a day with his collie at 76 years old.

It's good to hear some of you have plans to give your dad a gift. However, I am saddened to hear so many of you have had your dad's to pass away. Do any of you want to get something for yourselves?

I am planning to get my dad the 8-piece Williams screwdriver set.

That's a great gift!

I was 15 when my dad died 25 years ago, and my father in law died 5 years ago at Thanksgiving so Father's day is not something I really look forward to. I do have an 8 and 10 year old and they usually make me something. Not really a Father's day gift, but today I ordered a pair of steel toe Danner USA made boots.

Sorry to hear about your dads but they are great boots, I have a pair and love them.

My dad's not a big garage guy, but he keeps aquariums, so I usually get him something he can use for his fish tanks. I'm planning to take advantage of the father's day sales and get myself a new table saw.

Getting a Seiko SARB033 for my father-in-law .....

I own the white dial version and it's a really nice mechanical timepiece with hacking feature.

My dad died last year one week after Father's Day. I gave him his last gift in his hospital bed: a knight statue. It's still on top of my microwave where I can see it every day. This year will be rough. I am having a hard time in the stores with all the Father's Day displays knowing we won't have another one.

I'm making the old man a maple cutting board. He's not into tools, but he gets into cooking. I'm getting the kids involved in cutting, gluing, sanding, while I do the more precise edge bevels and chamfers. Taking pictures every step so it will ship with the gift.

I bought my dad a solarflex shirt that protects you from the sun UV and a sun gaiter. He goes fishing a lot and on that water you can get a lot of sun. Figured I would get him this since it's typically something you would want to try out but not buy it yourself.

The table saw I wanted came on sale a bit early, didn't even have to wait for Father's day.

My Dad is 85 and in relatively good heath. Dad Loves to travel and see new things, so I have planned a two day road trip. I put him in a cab tractor last week helping me bale hay and I believe he probably enjoyed that more than anything. Being useful and able to help on the farm is very rewarding to him.
Our trip will include a stop at Harry J. Epstein.

Beretta PX 4......I am also bringing my tool box home from storage. I bought it a few years back from my second dad....a former employer and friend who taught me a lot about life and business.

Its going to get a good bath and wax.

No clue where my dad actually is.

I have 5 and 6 year old girls. I have more fun seeing what they come up with and spending time with them and my wife. I don't want anything other than that.
