faux wood/marble tiles

Hi, I have a dirty garage floor with paint & oil stains, and I'm too lazy to do the prep work for epoxy sealing. So I'm considering the snap-together tiles.

The thing is, I don't like the plasticy monochromic look of garage tiles (coin or diamonds patterns). I like things with more random, natural patterns. I found some faux wood and slate/marble tiles that are intended for exhibits & dance venues. Would they hold up in a garage? How will they look after a few years?

I work on my cars using a floor jack so the tiles have to be durable

It's the same company that makes Racedeck. The dancefloor tiles look like the same construction but with the additional laminate layer on top (ie, a photo of wood)

I didn't find any information on the link you gave about how the finish is attached to the tiles so we are at a disadvantage. Get some samples and see for yourself. I would speculate that any glued/adhered finish would come off eventually and probably not be part of the warranty if you're not using it for what it was intended for.

It would be interesting to know. Are you willing to find out if it works for the garage?

I asked them and they said it's not intended for the garage because the laminate layer is probably not durable enough to withstand the rigors of the car being driven on it. However, putting a pad (like the BLT pads) on top would likely alleviate this problem. But at that point it's so expensive it's not worth it anymore, so I've decided to not pursue this. I could just hire a contractor to put in tile for the same price

By the way, I think if you wanted the wood look, it'd be cheaper to put in vinyl planks. They're $1.75/sf at Home Depot. Then put a pad on top to protect it from the car's tires.
