Most mechanic goop is a mystery to me, and that assembly lube thread turned up good information, so whats the Anti Seize everybody likes?

Do I need more than one kind, or would something like CU-800 work for everything?

I use the permatex alum colored stuff for everything: sparkplugs, wheel studs, brake caliper bolts, anything you would use antiseize for.

Pure nickle Bostik brand is what i use but the copper stuff is good enough. If you ever mess with exhaust parts, and use anti seize on the hardware you will save your self down the road if you ever have to take em down. I use it the same way as mentioned above and also use it on pullers with threaded pressure screws.

I use the Wurth CU-800 and mix a little Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil to thin it out so that it spreads/flows better.

I have removed suspension bolts with over 100K miles and they came right out and still had the never seize on them.

Have you guys ever heard of high temp anti-sieze, for exhaust manifold bolts, or places that are high temp applications? If so could you recommend a quality brand?
Thanks

I found another type that sounds interesting for applications where you want a conductive anti seize. Its rated 1500F, main use seems to be electrical conduit.

Silver Goop made by Crawford Fitting Co. of Solon, Road, Ohio.

Bostick, Permatex, Felpro, all make great products. anti-seize with teflon -10 to 350, for general use with all metals. Regular grade copper,-267 to1800, For use with all metals. Where fast disassembly is required. Hi Temp-297 to 2,200, For hi-temp Stainless Steel. White Food grade with PTFE -5 to 450, used for food areas. Pure Nickel, -297 to 2,400, used for Stainless Steel. For a 1 lb. can they run about $8-$20.

I like the silver Permatex stuff. I'm extremely particular about having clean threads on all the fasteners I'm dealing with whenever working on the car. After I clean and inspect the threads, I'll either apply anti-seize or a drop of TriFlow on them.

I bought a set of 4 kinds off ebay, Anti-Seize Technology is the brand, looks industrial, not consumer, came in 4 flavors including one of pure nickel. I missed the bid on a jar of the Bostik nickel, bought the sampler instead, then got a second chance offer on the Bostik, but I'm going to give the stuff I have a shot before buying anything else.
