Does anyone have a favorite pair of needle nose or slip-joints that are fairly inexpensive but yet work fairly decent? I'm sure it's been hashed over before. I do have some nicer pliers but I'm scared I'll lose them.

The problem is the bottom of the barrel ones are trash. Move up to the next level and they are practically the same price as Channellock pliers. So, why not get half decent ones that get the job done and support a quality manufacturer?
I try not to buy cheap Chinese tools, but the HF Quinn (China) 4 piece set is $25.

Some of the Doyle at Harbor Freight get good marks for quality and value. I bought a set of the crimpers and they're not bad. I'm not used to higher quality crimpers though so I'm not a good judge. I also bought a set of Quinn pistol style needle nose for cheap but I've never used them. Kinda why I went the cheap route.

Toptul pliers are pretty damn nice. Not as good as Knipex or Tsunoda, but they do the job perfectly well. But they're from Taiwan, not China, which is a plus.

I really like my Tsunoda pliers. They are a great value (at least back when I bought them) IMO
I agree… and when a lot of them are $12 on Amazon to me it makes sense to spend a few extra dollars when you spend that on a meal at the drive thru these days.
Love the tsunoda pliers I have.
