The use of a drop light or work light is very common and often critical to geting the job done properly. I was just curious what everyone's favorites are?

In my experience I have used many fluorescent and a few LED, but I have liked the florescent the most, it seems they spread the light farther, whereas the LED seem more directional.

Or do you just use a flashlight?

So what do you guys think?

I have about 5 or 6 lights I use that are mostly fluorescent. I just picked up a new bayco fluorescent, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000256R2I/?tag=atomicindus08-20 that is pretty nice. Also have a couple older fluorescent single bulb work lights that are alright. I made an underhood light from a 4ft two bulb fluorescent fixture and put those plastic shatter proof tubes on it so glass won't go everywhere. This has to be one of my favorite lights. It's amazing when working on the top of an engine. I just couldn't justify the price for an underhood light for occasional use. I also have some cheap LED lights like these, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003377UIC/?tag=atomicindus08-20 that are nice for tight areas like under the dash. I installed a couple remote starts and just stuck the light up under the dash while I was working down there.

My new Snap on/Blue point lithium powered cordless Fluorescent is the best light I have ever used. Bright as heck and tough. (I probably have dropped it about 50 times so far)
