I'm having trouble locating a good all metric tape measure. Does anyone have one they like/prefer?

X2^^^ I really like the pop out end on the back side of the housing for inside measurements. I use mine a lot for measuring from bolt hole to bolt hole.

Lufkin makes a dual measurement one that I really like. Don't know if they make an all-metric version.

I have a dual-measure tape. I don't like it. It can be confusing sometimes.

I'd rather have all metric or all US measures.

I have this is TOPTUL and in Fisco. Both are fine. The TOPTUL is impossible for a normal person to find (I bought a box of these when I sold TOPTUL) but the Fisco from England I believe are readily available.

BMI makes a nice one. I like the "panoramic" feature that displays the measurement of the tape + the holder.

I think Festool markets a BMI tape in their colors.

What do you want to use it for?

My favorite tape measure that I use for layout work is a flat bladed tape measure made by FastCap. Again, this is flat, so it has no standout at all, but then again, it is very easy to transfer your measurements to your work surface. They have several different variations of the actual tape - although I don't really like metric, I like their 'metric standard' tape. One side of the tape (in larger printing) is standard in 16ths, and the other side is metric. I don't really like metric, but sometimes it's just easier to read

I get mine through Amazon but you can buy directly from FastCap

For framing and rough construction - Stanley Fat Max. Note, FastCap does make a tape similar to the flat tape that will stand out - It's called the pro carpenter

I have a couple Fisco tapes for the metric jobs. They're great, and pretty reasonable from Amazon.

I use the common Jobmate tape. For my occupation I frequently travel to Canada to visit customers. Our USA made/Japanese inspired product is all metric. I can easily pick up one of the good quality tape measures at Canadian Tire upon my arrival. If I’m flying to a site, and want to travel light, I can pick one up and leave it as a gift to my host.0e6211bf3aba6c0adda7dbf6741777ae.jpgBTW I am a 20 year Engineer at Creform Corporation. I have to say, that the shops here on GS rival some of the best ones I’ve visited across the globe. From GM to Boeing, they have nothing on you guys. Cheers.
