I use the Gloveworks 8mil. I bought a box of 1000 of them a year or two ago on sale somewhere. Should last me a while. :ROFLMAO:

I got a box of bright HV orange nitrile gloves, and I was painting outside with them on and they did their job, but they were such a glare in the sun that it bothered me a ton, enough to buy a box of the black ones. Much better - though they do get a lot hotter.

Thanks for this. Just ordered and discount covered shipping
Thanks, I just ordered a box too, SAVE10 code still valid. We'll see how they work.

Also ordered a pair of the MPact gloves for dual sport motorcyle riding.

I've worn almost all of the recommendations and most are pretty good. I wouldn't recommend the hf gloves though. As a transmission tech I deal with a lot of chemicals and fluids daily.
Fit has a lot to do with how long they last. You don't want them stretched or they will just split. I can usually teardown a trans with all of it's sharp edges on one pair of good gloves. A lot of the cheaper gloves as soon as you touch something sharp they split open.
Right now I am using raven and gloveworks.

Most rubber gloves in my shop are Grease Monkey. I have to keep several sizes to cover wife and little kids+(S), growing boys (M&L) me (XL) and SIL (XXL). Also keep goat skins and washable mechanic's gloves and on top of that Kevlar (for cutting rubber). Our safety gear tote is mostly gloves.

As the originator of this thread, interesting to see it pop up again.

Glove Works and Grease Monkey brands are always top rated, and I've had good luck with both brands.

Currently, my "high end" gloves are the Venom Steel (from Menards, but available many places) and these dual layer nitrile gloves from Home Despot's house brand, HDX:

These HDX gloves seem to be about the equal of the Venom Steel. Both are fairly expensive, but seem to hold up quite well for what they are, and it's easy to work with them; you don't lose much grip or dexterity.

The Venom Steel are also dual layer, and this seems to be the secret to gloves that last a reasonable time.

Of course, I have a box of cheap blue HF nitrile gloves for quick messy jobs where they're not going to risk punctures. The expensive gloves are reserved for larger projects.

For brake cleaner (which contains acetone), I've found that the multilayer chemical resistant gloves seem to hold up, but they're quite thick and awkward. It also seems like the brake cleaner penetrates one layer but not another, so after a while they get slightly swollen and soft. I also have latex dish gloves which seem to do OK but are even thicker and more awkward. Thin latex gloves get punctured so fast I can't even tell whether they're holding up.
