This may sound ridiculous, coming from a guy that's got cabinets stuffed with power tools like most of us, but if I had to choose a favorite, my little cordless screwdrivers would likely top the list.
For every one time I fire up the circ saw, sawzall, drill press, one of my drills or impacts, router or oscillating tools, I use one of my cordless screwdrivers a dozen times. Between the 4v Milwaukee or the 3.6 v B&D Versapack, one of them is almost always on the bench, under the hood or in my pocket anytime there are screws or small nuts to be undone and redone.

- Earlier this week I used my corded Sawzall to cut up an Ocotillo bush/tree that was uprooted in the last monsoon storm.
- Yesterday I used my Taiwanese drill press to drill some holes in some angle brackets.
- Today I used my Dewalt cordless drill to drill some holes to mount the brackets.

These are my favorite power tools this week. LOL

What's the most important: a drill obviously. What do I like the most: Well since I have over thirty of them it must be the router. Why so many? Changing bits is for chumps.

I like my angle grinder a lot, very versatile tool.
That's what I was thinking. It not an exciting kind of tool. But my old Hitachi angle grinder has been beat on for 15 years and it's still fine. So specifically, that particular tool has gotta qualify as a favorite, and in general, an angle grinder is probably something I use more than anything else.

Certainly drills are necessary. And Reciprocating saws. And I learned the value of an impact driver at my last job when I used one day in and day out. One time I used the Makita impact driver we had for a couple hours straight and it started to smell like burning wiring. But I let it co down for a half hour and it was fine. Still good when I left six months later.

1/4" M18 impact. I didn't even know what they were until I got one. It immediately became my most used tool.

My buddy lent me one for a house project in 2009.
I had never heard of such a thing before. After that, I was like "what is this sorcery?!" And wondering why I'd been using a drill to put screws in

My "yeah this was worth every penny spent" tools are the milwaukee m18 drill/driver combo and M12 Ratchet. I f#cking love the M12 ratchet.

My most satisfying tools with regards to accuracy are my grandfather's drill press, and a heavily modded CM 113.xxxx table saw.

I love mini grinders and find the indispensable, but I keep wearing out Dremel. I tried the cordless Dremel and it was not powerful enough. I have a versapack mini grinder. I think the call it a wizard. But its not variable speed so that really limits it. I'm thinking of trying either the Milwaukee M12 cordless mini grinder or the Metabo HPT cordless mini grinder. I'm leaning toward the Milwaukee as there are some other M12 tools I've been looking at.

A few of my favorites:

1. Hypertherm 45XP plasma cutter: it is just a joy to use whether cutting or gouging.
2. Metabo burnisher: ****** expensive, but it does a fantastic job removing paint, rust, mill scale from large surface areas in a short amount of time.
3. Laguna LT16HD band saw: Thank you Italians for such a nice band saw!
4. Rockwell mini circular saw: handy as snot!

Acmesonic, Really? What is it about the word Acme? Yea, I buy tools from Acme Electric but every time I hear or see the word I think of Wiley Coyote and the Road Runner and his supplier of Road Runner killing equipment (WHICH NEVER EVER WORKS) is always ACME.

When I was a kid... we had a local Acme Supermarket. I couldn't understand why they didn't sell the stuff Wiley Coyote was ordering. 5 years old... I had the manager cornered for 20 questions.

using the old Atlas benchtop drill brings joy everytime I use it, reminds me of drilling holes with my dads old Delta as a kid. runner up is the M12 1/4" drive impact, feels great in the hand, lightweight, drives screws as well as it finesses small hardware.

Favorite: Likely, my digital volt-ohm-milliampmeter. A true safety tool when doing very dangerous work Otherwise, all of them. Can’t use a table saw to drill a hole, can’t use a welder to cut a piece of wood. Enjoy the tools you have and upgrade whenever you have the opportunity to do so.

Cordless Impact first - I'm a Makita guy, and have a row of Makita cordless stuff

Arguably my most used power tool... those silly Braun folding magnetic work lights from HF. I have worn out 2 of them so far. I have an 8-bay battery charger for the batteries they use that never stops humming along, just for them.

Switching from electric tools to air tools in my shop was a game changer for me.

My 1/2” air drill is probably my favorite. Loads for power for big hole saws, and no broken wrists when it inevitably binds up while breaking through the back side of metal plate.

Toss up between the battery impact and new battery lights.

For some reason the 3D printer just makes me feel like a kid.
