My son has a job where he has to travel from place to place so his whole workshop is in a Craftsman pack out kit. On top of it he has a folding seat.

Even folded, it's pretty bulky, and imo it's heavy. Not much online but one site lists 10.7#. not sure much can be done about the weight but I'm wondering if there's something out there that folds to a more compact size. This one is about 6" thick iirc.

The casters also don't last and because they tighten against a tube, they don't stay tight. We've discussed improving the casters and welding a tube through the frame to solve those issues, but with the holidays coming up, I'm starting to think maybe just build something better or if something exists that is better for decent money maybe buying something. What do y'all have?

I have this whiteside. I like it. I like the little mini back. Helps me find it when I’m squatting down.

One quibble. It’s pretty high. Maybe 15”. So when I’m doing a brake job, I’m quite bent over. I’d like something a bit lower

Not very foldable either
No it’s not.

1) I’d look at what Whiteside offers. Pretty sure they are the OEM for Snap on creepers. They make high quality stuff.
2) If you decide to make, think about a tractor type seat.
