I've been upgrading some of my cheaper tools lately. I have read that some things like the SO hook pick set and torx sockets are great tools.

Was wondering what your favorite snap on tools are? If you could only have one SO tool in your box what would it be? What SO tool do you use the most during the day or wouldn't be able to do your job without?

I don't make a living with my tools, but I'd have to say ratchet(s).

Pick set?
Hahahahaha.
I have S-O, Kobalt and C'man. All the same to me. Well used and worn but not a high failure tool.

F80 ratchets.
Ratcheting screwdrivers (soft grip is my pref.).
Reducing adapters.
Impact sockets if used everyday or in a mfgr. setting.
Replaceable metal tipped ball peen dead blow hammers
Red dead blow hammers

Any of the above I love dearly and use regularly.

1st place - 3/8" flex head ratchet - part # FLF 936

2nd place - 1/4" flex head ratchet - part # TF 936

3rd place - 1/2" flex head ratchet - part # SLF 936

Snap-On ratchets may cost quite a bit of money, but they're worth it. Every ratchet in my main box is a Snap-On and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Just one? Why the box itself of course. My favorite KR1000 super fine box IMHO the best ever offloaded from the mothership. You can find em super clean under 2K with a little patience.

I'd have a hard time deciding between my F80 ratchet and the ratcheting screwdrivers.

I have hard and soft handle screwdrivers and I really like them both. I like the soft grip, but the handle is a little large for me. The size of the hard handle is just perfect.

Well I have one dual 80 3/8" ratchet and it is really nice.

So besides ratchets what would your next favorite SO tool be? And if you say wrenches please be a little more specific since there are hundreds of different ones!

My new 1/2 impact with 1100 ft lbs of break away torque.

The gun is an absolute beast. I only use it on stuff my old snap on gun can't get off.

FX80 I got on CL the other day. Love the locking flex. Dont think the famous 80 mechanism is better than the Toptul 72

If I may change the rules a little! Looks like the ratchets and impacts are everyone's favorites. Can we pick hand tools and leave ratchets out. Was trying to put a list together of what tools to replace first. I have one dual 80 and would like more but think I want to purchase some other tools first. Guess I'm kind of looking for the tools besides ratchets and standard sockets. Things like U-joint sockets, screwdrivers, wrenches of different kinds, torx, allen, some of the specialty hand tools like battery tools, engine tools, suspension tools, etc.

Thanks

I wouldn't choose a ratchet as equal and/or better performance can be found elsewhere.

I would have to say their heelbars, such as set PBS704. I haven't found any nearly as good. Great for prying and alignment.

Also the 4-way angle wrenches are great and the angles are unique to Snappy (and the best ones IMHO).

Mine would be:
dual 80 ratchets
36 tooth ratchets also rugged
3/4" drive 36" ratchet
MG31
MG725
flank drive plus combinations, great for things that you cant put the box end on.(the teeth cause it to grip the fastener as the open end tries to spread)
30/60 angle wrenches
Allen sockets

I can't afford to miss a punch/chisel. I've got a plate and 8 screws in my left hand, so this holder is one of my more valuable (use-wise) tools!

FHNF100. I use it all day every day. From oil changes to most stuff under a hood. If its too big or small i need a different ratchet anyway. The handle is light enough that if you choke up on it you can ratchet pretty fast even though it is 12 inches long. Ultimate 3/8 ratchet IMO.

All this and universal sockets, I had always hated using universals until I got a set from SO, and as everyone has stated, ratchets, wrenches and picks
