Let's face it. Amazon has a lot of stuff. If I want something off the tool truck, I have to wait at least a week for him to stop buy, then most likely another week for him to order it. That's two weeks minimal. With Amazon Prime I get what I need usually in two days.

What are your favorite tools from amazon? Ones that you thought were great value and price.

Here is what I picked up a few years ago and still use it everyday. Fenix Headlamp.

This thing is great. Only one battery to deal with and it easily last 2 or three days. Always keep one of the batteries on the charger so it is almost as easy as swapping out a milwaukee battery!

Also needed some bits for my impact driver: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NQ4OX0/?tag=atomicindus08-20

8 Bucks and delivered to my shop!

Amazon gives me access to lovely and sometimes wonderfully weird Japanese tools I'd otherwise never see, like Tsunoda pliers, Lobster and Fujiya wrenches, Vampliers, etc.

I've had enough bad experiences with buying tools as well as auto parts from Amazon that I have ruled them out permanently. The final straw was receiving an obvious blemished/production reject/fake and when I wrote a negative review about it they blocked the review.

There's enough alternate ways to buy that are usually cheaper than Amazon and you don't have to worry about Chinese knock-offs.

My current favorites are Engineer pliers and Vessel screwdrivers. I buy them through Amazon.jp and get them shipped to the US, though.

+1 for Japanese tools. I found a decent set of JIS screwdrivers on Amazon.

I buy tons of auto parts from amazon, especially their warehouse scratch-n-dent (scuffed up box) items. #1 place I buy from if I don't have a large enough order to offset Rock Auto shipping rates.

Never had a problem and got some great deals, for example poly bushing kits for 2/3rds off the price anywhere else, brake rotors about the same relays 1/2 price once you factor in shipping or local auto parts store prices. I take that back, I did have one problem where a bushing kit, had one wrong bushing in it instead of the part # it was supposed to, so I got that piece separately instead of returning the whole kit, was still a substantial savings.

Nothing appeared to be Chinese knock-offs, but I read the descriptions very carefully, don't buy from 3rd party sellers and recognize some part #s, like those used by Moog, are copycat/reused by generics too.

Reviews are definitely a polarizing weakness of amazon. Some are great but it is too easy for a merchant to complain and not only get reviews removed, but even get someone perma-banned from posting at all on amazon and have all their prior reviews (even positive ones) deleted. Ask me how I know. ;)

I do a lot of shopping on amazon, and going to regional ones is usually the best deal for import stuff, Japan and Germany in particular. Favorites would include Vessel and Anex products from amazon Japan.

I usually buy where amazon is the seller and fulfills the order. 3rd party sellers filled by amazon sometimes have extra costs while I'm very, very cautious about 3rd party sellers that also fulfill.

Yeah, fulfilled by amazon is the ideal. I got burned once on a cheaper item, and now pay attention to that. I probably spend a couple grand a year. Recently bought new shoes, brass fittings, a seal installer kit, and cat litter. If they're competitive on most things I use them. Why drive to the store, to "save" $1 on a $20 item, only to find out they're sold out? That's my experience at the local walmart all the time, I just stopped going there.

Amazon is a very competitive place for most tools. I'll do a sanity check on items to make sure I'm not overpaying, but usually it's a wash. I have prime, so on a $100 item, I may just pay the extra $2 to get it in two days vs. a week elsewhere.

Basically any tool is available on there. For the purpose of the OP, IPA tools, Astro Pneumatic, Vessel, engineer, usually have very good pricing. Amazon is also the universal winner for small orders, again, I have prime. Same cost for a screwdriver as anywhere else, but free 2 day shipping. Yes, I'm aware, I pay $10/month for the "free shipping". I've had 12 deliveries this month. I typically am on the winning side of that equation.

Got a wetols 14in rivnut tool that works good. Just ordered an intake bladder for my home made smoke machine. Im not a huge amazon fan myself, I prefer to buy from a store but sometimes it makes more sense to go with amazon. If its a big savings or a tool I can’t find locally or it’s a rarely used tool so the Chinese knock off is what im looking for

Magnetic oil plug removal tool. Saved me a lot of mess and frustration.

Eklind 1/8" T-handle allen wrench that I got for $1.54. Use it all the time at work.
