zip tie gun. Hands down. Love that thing.

Sounds cool. I have never used one.

Does it look like this? I am having trouble finding a video of someone using one.

Cheers!

I'd have to say either harbor freight tie downs for my truck or my angle grinder. Seems like I've used that a bunch.

Hate to sound like a wimp, but...

The first tool I pick up in my garage, and the last I put down, is a pair of Ansell gloves.

I have sensitive skin, and my nails are constantly getting ripped, so I almost always wear gloves. The Ansell Hyflex 11801 gloves are nylon with a Nitrile palm and finger coating. Very tough but very flexible and great tactile feel. Grainger part 5AJ29.

Gloves are a great one. Anytime I have to move something large with sharp edges, or touch any general item that I really need to get ahold of but don't want to touch, I find myself reaching for them. No matter how nice of a set I get, though, I always go back to those red Craftsman gloves that are less than $5 a pair at Sears. I use them more often than any other single item in the garage except probably the garage door....

I have a pair of leather motorcycle gloves from back when I first started riding. They've since been replaced by nice armored gloves, but the old leather gloves, with a thin layer for the inside of the palm, but strips of padding across the fingers and back of the palms, makes for a very useful tool when, for example, you're trying to break loose that brake caliper bolt and you know that the moment you put any significant torque on it, your hand is going to hit either the fender or some random sharp-edged suspension component...

My favorite tools under $20 are my Allen flare nut wrenches. SAE and Metric 3pc sets $13/ea.

I also use my Husky double box end wrenches quite a bit. They were $14 per 4 set piece of SAE and Metric.

They work great for the diy.

HF digital caliper, $20. I'm not a machinist so if it's not perfectly accurate I don't mind.
