When I see a scam I report and block.

I figure the sooner it is kicked off FB that less value it has and the less livelily it will be worth doing again.

Is Facebook to blame? I see it as a shell game, where a group will upgrade their detection and enforcement. It will help for a while then creative crooks will find a new trick until the media group again beefs up their detection and enforcement. The only thing questionable is how much of their Gross budget should be spent on consumer fraud protection. In the end the same rules apply "Buyer Beware".

I NEVER see ads on my desktop PC when using zuckerbook because I use a site called FB Purity. It's a free download but they do ask for donations. Aside from ridding the site of ads, you can modify the page to show or hide other things you normally can't control. I first started using it when autoplay videos were first introduced. There was no way to prevent a video from starting & if you had the volume up it would scare the **** out of you.

Point is the scammer has to pay for the adds. (my understanding is breaking rules and getting reported cost them lost money.)
If everyone reported the obvious scams, the profitability/value to the scammer goes down.

If they were obvious scams to everyone, they wouldn't exist

I used to report ads, but then found that after I did, I'd start getting more ads of the same type. Now, when I see a bogus ad on MP, I just pass over it.

I would report them and FB would always answer "This ad does not appear to violate our community standards."
A few weeks ago I had a rash of fake profiles and groups start showing in my feed, all questionably dressed women.

I didn't dare open FB on my phone while at work as every other photo was fully visible ******* and labia through lace.

"This ad does not appear to violate our community standards".

After several days of reporting/see less like this the algorithm recalculated.

The romantic hills of central Umbria, Italy,
Sometimes I will reload FB's page, and it goes from my most recent feed of 3 days ago to 2 weeks ago to 16 hours ago to 4 days ago to 18 minutes ago... Seriously, their AI algorythms, trying to play the system and game me, makes me think they've become worse than worthless.
Add to this - I have 28 groups I actually sub to, but the same 4 people and 3 groups always end up prominent. Seriously, I want to know about some of my old car groups, but they keep putting a couple radical people's rants right up there on top. Absolutely worthless. I've even "X'd" out a couple of them, their algo says "We will show you less of this for the next 30 days", but that's a lie, as 4 days later, whoops, pop, there you are again, 4x in one day.

It doesn't matter if those posts are relavent to "the price of tea in China", they keep cramming the same SOS down my throat, and think somehow I "like" their force fed pabulum.

There’s also the junk that gets peddled on the ads. Very clever, but the order never arrives or is so bad it makes temu look like Neiman Marcus.
