I don't want to see posts from ignored people when they're quoted

Generally, when you quote somebody, you are referencing your post to their post. If their post isn't seen, how would anybody know what you are talking about ?

On the flip side, what's the point of having an ignore function if you see their posts often?

Something like this could be done with a bit of coding:

This user is on your ignore list. To see the original message, click here

That would allow people to get context if they choose to, while still maintaining an effective ignore function
