We are going to have concrete landscape curbing done around the house yet this fall. I personally like the look of the slant edge versus the mower edge, but I am looking for a little bit of feedback or experience. For those that have mowed with the slant edge, are you able to cut grass without trimming? At the end of the day, I am trying my best to be able to mow the edges without trimming. Thank you and advance!

If you have a basement and live in a wet area these can be great for water storage right next to your foundation, any holes or cracks and free basement shower.
Seriously, the best edging is larger rocks which let water flow away from the home.
If your doing it around the yard and not the foundation, nevermind the post.

How far do these go in the ground? Seems street curbing is pretty deep. Frost around here would for sure bust up a continuous length of concrete.

I don't think they go very deep with the concrete edging, the problem is, next to a home it holds water in. Plastic edging is just as bad and not recommended, it goes 6" deep and with mulch or rocks can hold hundreds or even thousands of gallons in this porous area.

As LX mentioned I don’t think you can avoid edging with a concrete border. I removed a double wide brick border on our small front yard and installed a 6 inch deep and 8 inch wide concrete border. I use a manual old push mower and I still have to clip edges about every month in growing season.
It’s a good grip exercise for me cause I could use my Honda gas powered weed eater or get a gas powered mower and set the blade lower. I’d rather get a little exercise and not have to spend money on gas or sharpening or buying new blades.
