I have several spools of this stuff left over from my house build. Anyone have a need for it?

Re: Feeler: RG59 cable CATV

Its sadly a generation behind with RG6, Dual and Quad shield being the new required standard for most cable/sat installs.

Yea, I guess I should preface by saying I didn't use it for CATV. I used it for a bunch of camera home runs. Bought way too much and just found it in the basement over the vacation.

Should be fine for camera runs or similar.

59 is pretty useless nowadays. Well, in the area of using it for antena, cable or satellite tv. RG6 is the standard nowadays.

No, it's RG59 which is 75ohm. Typically used for video cameras and antenna's.

yes his is RG59, which is now pretty much only used for CCTV cameras. I was responding to the guy who said it was for CB antennas and such, I checked -those do use RG58 which is 50ohm.

lol.
Just sold all of the RG59 and some RG58 I had for $100 to a real estate guy. I am happy.
Watch out for inferior cabling coming to a house near you. :)

I just found, in a little used room packed full of junk, two spools of I-Don't-Know-What. It's white. A few different twist strands of wire, and apparently used to wire alarms. One guy told me someone would buy it on craigs list.

He's right. That's where I sold mine. :)

What is best to use for a small FM antenna for my stereo receiver?

They make antenna wire specifically for this. You can buy it at RadioShack.
