Where is anyone sourcing their supercut blades from? It does not seem like there is alot of choices for suppliers.

Got my 2 new 3.0ah batteries today!!

Ha... I got home to find a ToolNut box too. My girlfriend goes "Whatever it is it is NOT batteries". She knew that I had the batteries coming as well. I totally forgot that I ordered something else along with my SuperCut. So I pickup the box that I am sure are the batteries and it weighs nothing. I cut it open reach into the foam wondering what this package is full of besides packing peanuts and helium and voila, sanding pad.

All, fair warning... we're down to under 20 of these left. Once they're gone at this price, that's it. We will not be able to extend the price on these.

Thanks for everyone has has ordered already. I trust everyone has gotten their extra batteries and that you're putting your SC to good use.

That's one thing that kinda annoyed me with Toolnut is the copious amounts of packing peanuts they use. I appreciate a good package but man are they a pain to deal with. I prefer the little airbags

The additional batteries arrived today for me.

I actually don't mind the packing peanuts. They're water-soluble, so I just dump them in the sink & run some cold water.

Got mine yesterday. It is an awesome tool. I'll be nuking a chipped tile in the house this weekend with it. I've been in contact with Shane on an issue with the Multimaster adapter I purchased with it, and as usual, Shane has been quick to reply and get the correction in motion for the issue.

I had one anomaly with one of the 2.4Ah batteries. When I got them, they both had 1 green light of charge left. I played with the machine for a bit, and one of the batteries went to a single red light. I put it on the charger, but it had the flashing red light, which meant battery was broken. However, I put it onto the Fein charger that came with the brushless drill, and it charged it right up. I'll keep an eye on it, but seems to be OK for now!

Now the hunt for blades starts.....

Edited to add battery manufacture dates:

2.4Ah, 2011-02 (COO P.R.C.)
3.0Ah, 2014-03 (COO Japan)
4.0Ah, 2013-11 (from the ASCM18QX hot deal) (COO Korea)

IMO, SuperCut is significantly faster and easier controlled than the M12 Milwaukee and HF corded multi-tools I've used at similar work.
I haven't bothered to compose an objective comparison, but the result is extreme.
No use with the drill yet.
Helluva a value on these tools.
No clue on the oscillator blade/attachments yet, I've got a stash of older pieces to use up first.

Wish Fein had more 18V tool options here in the US to use the batteries after the drill/SC combo.

With all due respect, I take an opposing stance having had so many shipments damaged by a lack of packing being the norm (not ToolNut). Much prefer an error on the side of caution, especially with peanuts vs. plastic.

Critically for ToolNut, in my order, placing a single SuperCut adapter loose in a box fitting the drill and SC combo is a good way to lose the adapter.

Now waiting on some Fein "Bare tools" with all these extra batteries.

Wonder if they will release a genuine Fein made in Germany impact vs a dressed up Milwaukee?

Only about 10 Supercuts left in stock right now at $299.

Like MOJoWales says, the Supercut is much faster and also has a larger sweep compared to the Multimaster.

I would be stoked if we could score some bare tools to go along with the drill & Supercut offerings.

I looked around Fein really doesn't have anything else I would really be inclined to buy right now that is cordless. The Drill and the Supercut are the two stand out tools for me atleast. The rest of the tools are very metal working oriented.

I agree. I wish they would make a 18v brushless and cordless version of their jigsaw. That does look like a nice saw.

I got to use the SC some tonight. I cannot believe I ever tried to do drywall work without an oscillating tool! It goes through the drywall effortlessly and leaves a nice clean cut. It's also really nice that with a decent bi-metal blade on it you can cut through whatever you need without switching. I cut some trim out of the way including cutting nails, then cut drywall, then cut tileboard that was on one of the walls. I'm using a SC mount Imperial Storm. I can tell this thing is going to get a lot of use around the house.

Shane -
Any guidance on how to warranty register this on the feinus.com website?

Option 1 - register as "Power tools with Li-Ion battery", in which case you have to put in the 3.0Ah batteries as the ones that came with the set.

Option 2 - register the 3.0Ah batteries, charger, and tool separately under the appropriate categories.

I did notice that the 2.4Ah batteries have no serial numbers, which makes it impossible to register online. This is probably what you guys noticed which prompted you to get Fein involved to offer up the 3.0Ah batteries.

I've got to read back in the thread (I got the drill and am on the fence about SuperCut because I don't need it. Have the MM and I just don't see doing the work that would prove useful for the SuperCut), but are extra batteries being shipped with this? Why do I keep reading about extra batteries :headscrat

The SuperCut comes with 2 2.4Ah batteries. Fein is including 2 3Ah batteries with the SC, but are not going to warranty the 2.4Ah batteries. So you are paying 299 and getting the SuperCut and case, charger, 2 3Ah batteries all with a full warranty, and 2 2.4Ah batteries with no warranty.

Can someone confirm if you need to buy an adapter to be able to use the Fein blades? Maybe I'm missing a part but the tool holder that gets released from the Supercut doesnt mate up any of the Fein blades off the shelf.
...
Oh after looking at page one I see the adapter. So are there SC specific blades where you don't require this?

there's multimaster blades and supercut blades, you need the adapter to use multimaster blades. supposably the supercut blades are better quality or some such

There are Multi-Master blades which have the smaller 8-side starburst pattern, and then there are Super Cut blades which have the larger 12-point shapey deal...

The adapter uses four little wings to hold onto a Multi-Master / Universal style blade. It's secure enough as long as you buy blades which completely enclose the spindle. If you buy the open ended ones, I think you're gonna have a bad time based on my experience. The Super Cut blades mount like a super strongly mounting thing. They are not going anywhere once locked down.

Edit: Would it help to just make a video on the way the blades mount, using the adapter and so on? I don't know if anyone is still on the fence for this thing or even if ToolNut still has any in stock.

Hey , I would be gratefull if you did.

I jumped off the fence for the drill and then the SC w.adapter and 6 blade pack. Not confident i,m mounting the mm blades or adapter correctly...had some slip/rotation of the blade w/my noob trial test.

So... picked up the adapter today. The blade during the off position isn't parallel to the tool. Seems like the way the adapter was cut is a bit off. Is this what others have noticed?

Obviously the tool will function fine at any angle but its a little odd when it would be nice to be parallel for plunge cuts with multimaster blades.

Mine is the same way, but I don't think it's the adaptor being manufactured wrong. I think that's just the design.

This is the exact reason I contacted toolnut. The Fein adapter is such that blades mounted with it on the supercut are not parallel to the tool. This is annoying. The answer I got back was essentially this is the way the Fein adapter is, and it doesn't matter much to the function of the tool.

I don't agree with that, but decided not to pursue it further and bite the bullet and get supercut blades.

Edit. I also tried the imperial blades adapter, that does not work at all with the AFSC18. Don't waste your time.

I also bought the Fein adapter for the MM blades bought have not tried it yet. The blades for the SC are not carried by many vendors, ToolNut only had 3-4 to choose from. I found this site which has the Imperial made in the USA blades.

http://multitoolblade.com/fein-supercut-oscillating-multi-tool-blades-1.html

I ordered a selection of these and have been very happy, they work great, which is why I did not try the MM adapter yet.

So far very happy with the SC, it is powerful and much better than the MM type tools (my experience being with the Milwaukee M12 version)

Big thanks to Shane & ToolNut for having these great deals on the Fein drill & SC

I linked the wrong place by mistake, I bought from
http://multifitblades.com/supercut.html/

Both sites have a US and CDN site, I find the Multifitblade site I bought from has slightly better prices and also gives a free titanium blade for every $100 spent. The other site, the Multitoolblade site has a much larger selection, but prices are about 10-15% more.

Of note, on the Multfitblade site, a couple of items are incorrect, the Japanese blade and the mushroom scraper are in the $20+ price, but when you click on them and SCROLL down to where you select the quantity/price, you see they are $11.95 & $9.95....that is what I paid for them last week; not sure why the error. Double check any you like to make sure what the correct price is.

Either place has a good selection and price for the Fein SC.

I also have the same offset with the MM adapter.
But it cut just fine when I used it.

Shane, Ive been looking into buying a multimaster, a FMM350Q more specifically. I notice you have an FMM350Q TOP and a FMM350Q TOP Systainer Edition. I can see that the cases are different on the outside, but how do they differ on the inside? Also, as kindly as can be, any chances of a deal in the future ;)? Prices are pretty equivalent everywhere I looked, and you're already in the lead with free shipping, no sales tax, and stellar customer service, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask (hopefully)!

Both are exactly same on the inside. The only difference is the Systainer and that you save $50 with the Systainer version. Unfortunately, we do not have any deals that we're offering on Fein products currently. But we would definitely appreciate the order.

I'm a little confused, do you think I meant the inside of the tool? Because that's what it sounds like you replied to. I meant the inside of the tool case (i.e., the inside of the Systainer vs the inside of a regular case).

Sorry if my answer was confusing. I was talking about the items included with each version are the same. As follows:

(1) MultiMaster FMM 350 Q
(1) Sanding pad each perforated and unperforated
(3) Sanding sheets each of grit 60, 80, 120, 180
(1) Sanding plate Ø 4.5 In. perforated
(2) Sanding sheets each Ø 4.5 In. of grit 60, 80, 180
(1) E-Cut saw blade universal, 2 E-Cut Long-Life saw blades 35 mm, 65 mm
(1) HSS segment saw blade
(1) Hard metal segment saw blade
(1) Hard metal triangle rasp, perforated
(1) Hard scraper
(1) Suction device

And then choice of the Fein plastic carrying case or the Fein Systainer.

IMO, the Systainer version is a no-brainer since it's cheaper, plus I'm a Festool proponent and really like my Systainers.
