My old Milwaukee 4.5" angle grinder is just about to give up the ghost,it's been great,no telling how many discs the thing has used up. I've been sort of window shopping for a new one,may get another Milwaukee,or a Metabo, but I've got time to shop around. I noticed Fein has a line of angle grinders, never heard anything but praise about anything they Fein makes. Just wondering if anybody had one and what they thought about it.

Where are they made? I'm looking to get a grinder.

It is a German company, and alot of their stuff is made there,I browsed over their website, but it never really specified where the grinders in particular were made. The only thing holding me from giving them a try is the price ($180.00 new on Ebay),that's why I was hoping to run across someone that had one,so I could hear an opinion one way or another.

Looked at two Metabo angle grinders the other day and the tags said Made in Germany.

ALL Fein tools are made in Germany except the vacuum (Italy) and the cordless drills.
I can bet with you that you`ll find at least one Fein angle grinder and a Fein drill at any metalworking shop over here. But with a Metabo or Flex you`ll be happy too i think.

It seems that everything Fein makes usually scores highest in any comparisons, though the higher prices prevent them from being the best "value" for occasional users. But I think they're usually always the smoothest and quietest for those who appreciate that along with the long life.

I have a Fein 4.5" angle grinder that I bought over 10 years ago. It is by far the best I have ever owned. I also have a Makita and a Milwaukee, but they hardly ever get used. Fein makes the best electric power tools in the world IMO.
