Hi,

There has been a lot of excitement here, and for good reason over the awesome Fein deals from Toolnut. If you haven't gotten in on those deals, or wanted a cheaper alternative, this may be a good option for you. This is a 14.4v Lithium combo of a drill and a multimaster. These are NOT the same tools that Toolnut is selling. This drill is made in China vs the top of the line one from toolnut. Also, this is the Multimaster as opposed to the Supercut. Finally, these are 14.4v vs 18v.

However, this looks like a great price on a very nice combo.

Thanks,
Robert

I know someone pointed to this link previously, but I welcome this discussion again. I wish it were a German drill because then that would be truly a nice combo. (That said, for all I know (which isn't much) -- the Chinese drill might be a good one as well). That said, do you think the $399 MSRP is a "true" one? That is, I know Amazon in the past has had some pretty whacky MSRP's listed. (Or their 3rd party sellers have).

For what it's worth, Sears and Walmart think it's more than that:

I think it's legit. The multimaster tool is made in Germany. I would look at it like you are buying the MM for a very good price, and getting the drill for free. I'm assuming the drill would be on par with a Milwaukee brushed model...between the m12 and m18.

If you look at it like this, $199 to get a cordless MM is a very good price.

The Multimaster will be COO Deutschland. The charger, China. The batteries will be Japan, Korea, China, or Malaysia. The drill, China (it is a rebadged Milwaukee if memory serves). Unfortunately, it's 14.4v. In some European markets, they already have 18v cordless Multimasters.
