Fein TipStart Grinder Question

After a great discussion a few weeks ago on grinders, I finally settled on the Fein 5" TipStart. It arrived today and looks great....still waiting to try it out!

My question is about wheels that I can use. I got the 5" grinder. I went to Lowe's tonight looking for a diamond wheel and all they have are 4.5" wheels. Can I use something smaller than 5" on my grinder or is 5" in the only size I can use?

I am just wondering if I can use what Lowe's sells or if I need to order a 5" wheel to use. Thanks for your help!

You can use anything that will fit within reason. I have seen everything from 4.5" to 6" with the guard off. They all will work. Just be careful to not overload with a wire wheel to big for it. I have done that once and the vibration broke my Metabo.

Also nice grinder I really like the tip start Fein grinders. Tough as nails and ergonomic to boot. The only problem is that the orange turns to black the first time you use it.
