Been comparing some heavy duty loppers. I was wondering if anyone had a opinion or experince with the Felco cam action loppers compared to their regular heavy duty loppers. I'm sure the cam action makes for easier cutting, but not sure on their longevity under heavy use. I'm comparing the Felco 220 to the Felco 22.

Buy them both then send me the ones you don't like! I'd be happy to take them off your hands for you.

Haven’t used the cam style but have and love the regular Falcon loppers. Had mine for 6-7 years with a lot of heavy use. Only issue is a healthy chip out of the blade where I didn’t see the tension wire running through.

Have the Felco 22. A little heavy but the best loppers I've ever owned or will own. I think the 220 has a little smaller max capacity.

I have some decent loppers (Corona, I think), but since I got the Stihl pole chain saw, I do all of my trimming with that, from "lopper-size" branches up to about 6" limbs. The loppers have not seen any use since then.

For what it's worth I've done some work with the Forest Service and they use the cam style Felcos. They get a lot of use and seem to hold up well.
